And it’s finally quiet, in the hospital. Dark enough without the overhead lights that the entire wing feels calm and his body doesn’t twitch uncomfortably at the constant surveillance he’s under during the day. It’s quiet, and he’s alone.
Every day that he’s been out of surgery, that’s about the moment Izuku shows up.
He’s less and less unprepared for the sound of his door being opened at this hour, the mechanical click from the handle and the heavy, low squeak of the panel shifting slowly ajar. It’s been about a week, now. Even the first time, Katsuki had a hard time feeling the shock he tells himself he maybe should have.
Instead, like every other time, he feels relief.

That’s the thing, about Kacchan. He’s exactly who he thinks he is. Izuku doesn’t know of another hero like that, to earn their confidence in full. He’s made a name for himself that way, perfected the art of being the best, just as he said he would. That’s what Izuku felt, standing there, surrounded by the evidence of his greatness, the life he’s built on the basic truth of being extraordinary.
Izuku isn’t that. Izuku isn’t anything at all, in the Hero world.
And that’s alright. He made his peace with that a long time ago. It doesn’t occur to him to feel anything but proud of him. That’s what he feels. That’s what this deep, deep ache in Izuku’s chest is, when he thinks about him.
Pride.

Out of every possible outcome his death could lead to—waking up two years in the past was not at all what Harry had planned.
In all honesty, he hadn’t planned much past that to begin with, given he was about to die and that cancelled all his upcoming plans rather naturally.So, sorted into Slytherin, watching Draco Malfoy’s inner turmoil from the front seat the way his sixteen year old self could only dream about and under the concealment of a polyjuiced body would make for a fun year, right? Probably? Not really.
Because there is one little, insignificant catch—the real Harry Potter of the timeline is still, rightfully, there, and Harry has to navigate his life (death?) very, very carefully.
But, carefully and Harry Potter had never quite seen eye to eye, so he does the next best thing—falls hopelessly in love with Draco Malfoy, of all people.
