Is it a malfunction, or is he finally losing it?
The UNSC doesn't exactly know what happens when you share your mind with a supercomputer, and it seems like he's finding what happens when you stop.
The glitches, the visions, the voices... he’s haunted by the digital ghost of a home that's no longer his.
John can't let anyone find out how bad this is - he knows he'll get pulled from the field if anybody realizes.
He can't fix anything if that happens, so he hides it from everyone. Plays it off. Ignores it. Powers through it.But those golden eyes somehow notice everything.
This was last thing he expected to fill the space she once occupied.
And he hates it.

He's supposed to hate it. But he's never been known like this before. Not by anyone.
...not even her...
The gravitational well of this black hole is too strong. And maybe he is losing it, because across the event horizon, he swears he sees something worth the consequences of falling in.
