“What’s the fun in a masquerade if you don’t flirt outrageously with the prettiest person in the room?” the young man says flippantly, and then winks at Keith. Keith huffs a laugh, amused.
“You keep saying things like that, but you haven’t seen my face,” he says, gesturing to his mask. “I could have warts under here. I could have spots, or scars.”
“You’d be lovely even with all of those,” the young man says, and he suddenly sounds serious. It takes Keith by surprise, makes his heart twist along with his stomach. “Your eyes,” he continues, tilting his head. “I’ve never seen eyes like yours before.”

Summary
They spend the winter on the road - never the same place for long, always running, always fighting. They leave the farm with two cars, a motorcycle, the clothes on their backs and the guns in their hands. Through that whole long winter, they pick up other things. Cigarettes, knives, blankets, homemade silencers, and, occasionally, books.
Daryl picks up whatever he can, whatever looks useful, whatever is to hand. Not for himself - he doesn't need much, never has. But boots, weapons, blankets, books? He saves that stuff for Sophia.

Summary
Instantly feeling more awake, Lisa pulled the door open completely. “Hey Sal,” she said quietly. He looked seconds from running away, his hair down and one of his hands over his face. In the other hand was the walkie-talkie-twin of the set she had bought Larry for his birthday, to replace the old ones. Her son’s voice was echoing out of it, tinny and panicked.
“Hi,” Sal’s voice was somewhat muffled as he grabbed more of his hair and pressed it against his face.
It hit her, right then, that she couldn’t see the straps of Sal’s prosthetic.
