Summary
“I would wish to have my own family.” Minho said softly. “But wishes are like sand. They fall between your fingers before they gain substance.”
“What if your sand turns to glass? There is substance there.”
Minho turned to the prince, his scent dropping into neutrality like a stone. He had given up dreams of finding someone to dull his sharp edges enough they could tolerate each other long enough to produce a pup. For most Reapers, retirement meant they were too old or their body was too damaged to continue fighting so they returned to the academy to teach. Minho knew he would be no exception.
“I learned long ago watering weeds will choke out a garden.” Minho set his jaw. “We mustn’t water the weeds, your highness.” He turned his horse, signaling it was time to return to the palace. Prince Jisung followed, his horse falling into step beside Minho.
“You’re the most beautiful flower in the garden. I doubt any amount of weeds could ever choke you out.” Prince Jisung said murmured.
Minho pretended not to hear it.

Summary
“Your highness.” Changbin said softly. A plea for Chris to rein in his alpha.
Chris forced himself to unclench his jaw. “Don’t threaten my mate.”
“You stole mine.” Minho hissed. “If you so much as harmed a hair on his head, I will become an agent of vengeance upon your lands in ways you can’t even imagine.”
Chris willed himself to stay calm. Minho’s very being encompassed barely contained wrath. One wrong move and Chris knew the situation would explode. A chill crawled down his spine.
This wasn't posturing.
It wasn't diplomacy.
It wasn't a military commander making threats for leverage.
This was a mated omega whose partner had vanished.

Summary
Do you know the constellations?” Felix asked, leaning his head back so he could see as much of the night sky as his eyes would allow.
“Many of them yes. That’s Ursa Major. It looks like a large ladle.”
Felix looked until he found something that did in fact look like a large ladle. “I wonder what it’s like up there.”
“Cold I presume.” Hyunjin said with a laugh. Felix rolled his eyes at the alpha.
“I mean for the gods, Colonel. Do you think they look at us and wonder why we’re so worried about trivial things?”
Hyunjin scooted closer, his warm scent enveloping Felix. “I think they covet our short existence.”
Felix gasped in mock horror. “Colonel Hwang, how could you even suggest the gods would covet a mere human.”
“Because a mere human has enraptured me far more than any gods could ever.”
Felix was glad for the cover of night as his face burned. He didn’t want to be too forward, but he wasn’t sure when he would ever have a night like this again.
“What a lucky human.” Felix said softly, still staring at the heavens.
