Summary
By Eru's mercy Maglor reunited with Elrond in Valinor but few (in truth—none at all) are as joyful to see the last one of Feanorian lineage as the wilder of Villa.

Summary
Maglor sat on the stone bench, utterly still, his hands in his lap, his eyes fixed on something very far from the garden.
"Maglor."
Nothing. The ferns continued their business. A bird in the upper branches expressed a brief opinion.
"Maglor."
Elrond hardly ever raised his voice without cause, and he raised it now — not much, but with a particular quality in it, the note that costs something to use, that means I am here, come back. Maglor startled like a man surfacing from deep water, blinking, locating himself by degrees: the oak, the bench, the moss, the tray, Elrond.
"Forgive me," he said, and his voice was rough from disuse. "You have been trying to reach me for some time."
"A minute. Perhaps two." Elrond set the tray on the bench with the careful economy of long practice making difficult things seem ordinary. He poured without asking. "I hope you will forgive the interruption. It is rather chilly in the shade, and it seemed to me you might be persuaded to share a cup of tea."Series

Summary
There had been years during the Siege of Angband when he would find himself standing somewhere without being able to account for how he had got there, his mind having quietly excused itself from the intervening hours. There had been nights when the singing started — his own voice, without his permission, performing the old songs of Aman in his tent, while his men outside fell carefully silent and pretended they could not hear. There had been the moment at the second Kinslaying when he had stood at the edge of the harbor and felt something behind his eyes go very still and cold, and then he had walked forward, and he had done what he had done, and afterward he could not be sure whether the coldness was grief or whether it was something worse — whether he had felt, in some very small and terrible part of himself, nothing at all.
That frightened him more than anything else. More than Morgoth. More than the Oath.Series

Summary
He had thought Maglor lost to him across all the long years since their parting upon the shores of Middle-earth — had made, in the manner the Eldar must make such peace, his accounting with that loss, and set it where old griefs are set, not healed but carried. He had not dared to hope for more than that. That hope, refused for so long, had now been answered in the cruelest possible coin — a return bought at the price of so much ruin that the rejoicing in it seemed, to look at from outside, almost indecent.
And yet he rejoiced.

Summary
He feared you, Eärwen had said to him once, long ago, in the private hours. All four of you. He feared that you would show your father that a child could be made of something other than fire, and he would love that something other more than the Feanorian fire.
Finarfin had not believed it then. He was beginning to understand it now.

Summary
"Cherries and cream, and a quiet supper among kin. I confess I did not picture it quite so — pastoral — when I imagined my uncle the king regent at home.Vanya by your mother, Teleri by your bride—so a Vanya Warden,— said Maglor Fëanorian, looking down from the back of his enormous horse with the measured expression of a man making a careful inventory of something mildly interesting, —keeping a tidy little court over the sorry remnant of my father's people...alongside his Telerin Matron.—He let his gaze travel — briefly, without dwelling — across Eärwen, across Finrod, across Galadriel and Celeborn. He did not look at any of them long enough for the look to constitute recognition. He looked back at Finarfin.—Doom of the Noldor,— he said, —indeed. I begin to suspect Mandos wrote you into the prophecy as a private joke at our whole House's expense. Hail, beloved uncle," continued Maglor, and did not dismount still. His voice, even spent on nothing grander than mockery, was the famous voice of the greatest singer the Noldor had ever made — low, warm, achingly fine — and somehow that only made it crueler, the way a well-forged blade is worse for being beautiful.
