Maekar stared down at the beast within the cradle, and thought it would be better if it simply stopped breathing.
He wouldn’t hurt the babe, he couldn’t do that. He wasn’t so heartless to take a cushion off the settee and press it against the sleeping baby’s face, even if it would be better for it. He hadn’t even thought of it. Or, at least, he hadn’t even thought of it more than once.

“Then I’m afraid I must ask what you’re doing to my son,” Maekar said, with a scowl. Daeron looked at his father, and he twitched as if he meant to move. He took a step, his hand still holding the cradle, but he did not go far enough as to let go.
“I think he’s realized to get to you, dear brother, he must pass by me,” Baelor said, smiling over his shoulder at the omega.
“You are terrorizing him.”
“It seems so,” Baelor sighed, sadly. “He is rather afraid of me, isn’t he?”Baelor comes to visit his brother's children, again, and Maekar deals with Daeron's dreams, and the brother's reconnect.
