"Trin? What's wrong?" she can hear Abby behind her, but she's already in her car and driving away. The seatbelt warning starts beeping and she fumbles it into the latch mid drive. She has to turn the AC on full blast because suddenly she's hot all over and she takes the opportunity to dial up the radio full blast as well.
When she parks in front of their building again, her ears are ringing. At least there aren't any tears in her eyes now, the dry air of the AC took care of that. She gets out, steps into a puddle, curses God and the universe and trudges up the stairs to their door. That's how the most disastrous fifth date of her life ends.
