A roar resounds again, closer through the vortex, and Hermes darts between the children and it, eyes locked on the cyclops racing towards them. He feels something sink in his chest, seeing absolute confirmation that children are being hunted by monsters in the other world. Just as he braces himself to fight and protect the children behind him, the vortex closes right as the cyclops reaches it. The last thing they hear is an aggravated roar of a monster not being able to feast as it wanted to.
