Summary
The apocalypse happening in his lifetime was not something Stanley had ever expected. And really, as if his life didn’t already suck enough. Now the world had a new triangular dictator ruling over it, and in the chaos society had become, Stan only had three goals:
- Survive.
- Try to find Ma and Shermie.
- Avoid his now evil twin brother who had apparently been the one to enable the whole weirdmageddon thing to begin with.
Number three was turning out to be the most difficult. Having become Bill’s right-hand man, Ford had gone and broadcast Stan’s name and face world-wide, right alongside a hefty reward for Stan’s successful capture. The fact that he was wanted alive wasn’t reassuring. Knowing Ford’s ability to hold a grudge, Stan figured it couldn’t mean anything good for him.
And he had a sinking feeling he was going to find out sooner than he’d like.

Summary
“Right. So can we go down there?”
Ford smiled at him like Stan was being silly. “Of course not. There’s no need for you to go down there when everything you need is up here. The fearamid is not as… human friendly as our home.”
Stan set his jaw stubbornly and crossed his arms. “Well, what if I want to go down there anyway? Just to look around?”
“The doors won’t open for you.” Ford slipped his hands into his coat pockets and shrugged casually. “They’re attuned to only open for Bill and myself. You’re free to give it a try if you want, of course. But I warn you, I made sure those doors were completely baby-proofed to discourage any wandering.”
A “This Is a Gift, It Comes With a Price” side fic in which Stan gets turned into a toddler.

Summary
“I know this is scary for you,” Ford murmured. “But you brought this on yourself. Threatening to take yourself away from me and thinking I won’t stop you? Silly boy.” He leaned down and pressed a light kiss to Stan’s forehead. “I won’t ever allow anything to take you away from me. Not even yourself.”
A “This Is a Gift, It Comes With a Price” alternative oneshot. Set in the fic’s main timeline, but diverges at some point after Stan has been living in the fearamid with his family to answer the question:
What if Stan was suicidal?

Summary
Ford only stared at him blankly. “You can go,” he said, “if that's what you want. I won't stop you, I won't chase you, I won't track you. You're free to leave if that's what you truly wish. If staying with me is such a hardship for you, then go.”
After months of being trapped in the hat-house above the fearamid, Ford brings Stan back down to earth and gives him a choice. He can either stay with Ford, or he can leave and be free. Stan chooses freedom.
A “This Is a Gift, It Comes With a Price” alternative oneshot.
