Summary
"I am curious about you," Bats says, and Clark laughs. Clearly.
Metropolis has a new champion. Some sort of literal god. Bruce is suspicious, frightened, and beyond paranoid about when the other Supershoe will drop.
Meanwhile, Clark has a bit of a professional boner about Batman.

Summary
He couldn’t fathom it. He couldn’t fathom tomorrow, or sitting up, or Batman’s withdraw, or the sinking of the sun, or the second after this one, or this one, or this one. How was it happening, everything still happening, he was not understanding it. Dust got in his eye and he blinked and his face burned and he was going to puke his lungs and his stomach and his heart out, and shred himself out of his skin with his fingernails. He was overcome by this conviction. This conviction that he could not bear anything else, any little thing, everything was or needed to be destroyed and destroying.
Clark struggles with his failure.

Summary
And for this—for this genuine attempt to drop it, for Bruce’s sake—Bruce did slide off of his chair, and he went over to Kal on his knees, and Kal’s legs spread easily, and Bruce stayed gladly between them for some time, and progress on the dognapping case was thusly delayed, and so all the angels wept, but Bruce was unbothered, he could hardly hear their fussing over the clamp of Kal’s broad hands around his head.
Bruce is stubborn.
