“Looks like we’ve got our work cut out for us, huh?”
You tilt your head at the familiar voice, and the streak of crimson you spot out of the corner of your eye confirms your suspicion. Shifting your balance from your position on the rail, you slide off in a single fluid motion.
“So,” you greet, landing in a crouch on the street below. “What’s on the agenda for Mondstadt’s greatest Outrider Knight today?”
Amber, to her credit, has gotten used to you dropping in from above by now. She turns around to face you, looking up from the map she’d been studying moments before. “Heya, Lumine! Hilichurls on Starsnatch Cliff—they’re getting a bit too close to the city for comfort.”
When a routine commission takes a bad turn, Lumine is left to face her fears.

“Hence the dorm?”
“Hence the dorm,” Eula echoes. Her hand grips hers so tightly she must not realize she’s doing it. “Anyway, I’m sure you’ve discussed your arrangements already, what with your traveling and all, but please be mindful of that. Also, that girl cannot cook to save her life, so I certainly hope you’re prepared to pick up the slack in that regard—”
“Eula,” Lumine interrupts as gently as she can. “Take a breath. Where are you going with this?”
She doesn’t take Lumine’s advice. “What I'm saying is, you had better take care of her Lumine, or else—”
A choked cry echoes across the dim living room.
“Or else, I—”
In which Lumine finally meets Amber's best friend, and things just sort-of snowball from there.
