Summary
I wrote this a long time ago, but finished it only recently. It's a continuation of the scene in book 8 "Written in my own heart's blood", when Claire and John have "carnal knowledge of each other". This scene has now appeared in the tv-show.
This is basically a prequel to my other story: In the woods nobody hears you scream, but can be read alone.

Summary
In the woods, during the battle, Claire and John stumble across one another. Jamie is fighting somewhere, so is William. John is on the way to find his son after what Percy told him. By chance, he and Claire meet by a little stream, both trying to find some water. They finally have time to talk and share an encounter that Jamie will never know about.
As much as I love Claire and Jamie, I was blown away by John and Claire together. Cannot explain it.
