Summary
Everyone’s been talking about it, ever since Elminster waylaid them coming out of the Underdark. Shadowheart, who bears the mark of her goddess on her skin and bears her pain whenever Shar sees fit to bequeath it, proclaimed the request a presumptuous one; Wyll, who would lay his life down for a stranger as easily as he rises in the morning, told her he didn’t understand how Gale could consider it. And Lae’zel, who sees things the most clearly of all of them, whose faith is withdrawn from those who prove themselves unworthy, cares only that he doesn’t have to, that the Absolute is a threat they can best alone, without loss of life.
Without loss of their lives.
So the question: Could he? Should he?
Will he?
Gale and Veraine talk outside Last Light.

Summary
Bodythrash bodyfervour body strains against the air but its arms are pinned to its sides daggers clenched in fists jaw clenched will clenched and will can’t fight back with preything glowing sick in the night—
Can’t lift its chin but hisses in a breath anyway, the body, and tastes that power in rosewater on its tongue. Sweat beads at its temple. Hunger pools at the mouth.
This is the body: a finely-tuned instrument, harmony of muscles in equilibrium, expanding and contracting like a tune, honed and whetted and aimed for the heart. This is the body: a blade.
One moonless night, Sceleritas Fel whispers in her ear: we all kill what we love.
