"There you are," Aisling said as Calum swept into the room. Her Mother Voice was a well-practiced one at this point, and it cut through the breakfast noise without a disturbance like a falcon in a stoop. "Hurry and make a plate, love, there isn't long before we have to leave."
Calum didn't answer her, or take a seat as he reached his chair. Instead, he took his hands from where she could now see they had been cupped against his chest, and held them over his plate.
A small Pocket in blue pajamas with a flaming car on the shirt rolled out of Calum's hands and onto the plate with a tiny, high-pitched squeak.
