“Are you sure it was consensual?” Ned had said. He looked at him with a disturbed expression, one of which he had never seen on his face before. It was contorted in a mockery of Peter’s own inner turmoil, and Peter hated it. It perturbed him. It made his heart stop. Made him doubt.
“W-what do you mean?”
Ned, with worry in his eyebrows, asked, “If he didn’t offer you money, would you have done it?”
Peter didn’t respond for a moment, only biting his lips. He shrugged, averting his eyes to his fidgeting fingers. “I don’t know.”
