He was an alchemist, really. He turned everything into anger. If anyone could weave wheat into gold it would be Chuuya, with his cursed hands and cursed fists. There were moments, after the anger fizzled out into annoyance, where he wondered what it might be like to try the hard way for once. What it would be like to attempt to resist the calling of hate. What it would be like to try to allow himself to like Dazai? But in another world things would be exactly the same, because they would still be themselves. In the end, anger was easier.

Summary
What is a soul to the soulless? Does he even believe in souls? Yes, he does.
He has met people with souls before. And, although childish, he has to hold on to the belief that their souls are resting or will rest. Because their bodies won’t know rest in this world. Their minds will only know guilt and pain. So souls must exist, if only so the good ones may rest one day.
And, suddenly, he wants to die. Genuinely wants to die. Just so they may meet in the next life.
