Tommy felt like he was watching some weird, slow-motion transformation. Wilbur, who had been staring at the living room floor like it killed his parents - is that insensitive? Shit, it probably is, fuck- turned to look at Tommy with a kind of indescribable rage in his eyes. Tommy was actually pretty sure that his eyelid started twitching.
“What is wrong with anteaters you ask? You look me in the eyes and ask, “Oh, Wilbur, what is wrong with anteaters? There’s nothing wrong with anteaters, Wilbur, why would you think that?”" The man was fuming. It was actually pretty funny.
“Well, Tommy, let me tell you what’s wrong with anteaters.”

Summary
Tommy marched into the secretary’s office and dropped onto one of the chairs lining the room’s walls. He would be fine, Phil wouldn’t be too mad at him when he’d explain the situation and the man would make sure the school didn’t let the other kid go without a punishment. Still, the injustice of the situation stung in his throat and behind his eyes, and Tommy leaned his head back to stare at the light on the ceiling to keep the tears at bay.
Or, Tommy is not having a good time at school, Phil puts the fear of himself into an ignorant principal and Eret is simply there, being themselves and making the world a bit better place.

Through the frosted glass of the front door window, he could see a light that left a puddle of gold on the hallway floor, illuminating the countless shoes and clothes strewn around. Phil smiled, despite everything. One of his boys had left the light on the porch on.
After that night, it became some sort of a routine; Tommy or Tubbo would turn the porch light on every night when it got dark, and in the morning, Techno would turn it off. After all, how was Wilbur supposed to know there was someone at home waiting for him if the entire house was dark?

This apartment, this city, Wilbur himself were falling apart from the seams, covered in so many patches and stitches that Wilbur really wasn’t sure what the original thing had looked like at all. The lack of color and the marks of age and the scars and the wounds didn’t really bother him when he never thought the original was meant to be anything but ruined.
But now, there was someone else in his life. There was somebody who had taken up hopefully permanent residence in his home and his heart, and suddenly the stitches and cover-ups and scuff marks and bruises looked a lot uglier in the bright sunlight. Fundy was something beautiful, something so bright and good that it hurt to look at her sometimes, and her presence made Wilbur all the more aware of all the sharp edges and pitfalls that made up his being.

Wilbur is a teenage dad, living on his own with his 6-month-old daughter after leaving his adoptive father's home without as much as a goodbye. Turns out that parenthood is a lot more difficult than people make it out to be, especially when you still have a lot of your own growing up to do.
