It takes until 9 AM for him to clean up, the four little bundles off somewhere in the sewers, the faint sounds of laughter and play fighting making ears twitch, flicking automatically around to catch the hint of squeals of delight at whatever game they had come up with this morning.
He leaves them to it; let them explore this world he had made for them, this shelter from the human world up above, -the Yokai one down below-
It was time for some TV, wasn’t it?
Yes he mused to himself, yes it was.

Summary
It was hard being the biggest, the eldest, the one in charge. The one they looked to for answers and help. It was tough when dad could barely manage to do more than stare with a glazed look in his eyes past them, leaving it all to Red to handle.
But Raph managed it.
He did it so the three little ones wouldn’t cry, wouldn’t be hungry or worried. He was there to take care of it all, the food, the care, the support. He would cuddle them late at night, bandage skinned knees, tuck three little turtles into bed- whatever it took to get them to be happy.
And maybe he did it for the good days too.
When Dad would get up early before they all did, settling himself in the kitchen to make them all breakfast; coddling and hugging them all one by one as they woke up. When he would make them all tea and whatever he could throw together from the scavenged remains in tall cupboards. The rat man handing them all their plates, jovial as always, only pausing to rub the top of Raph’s head speaking quietly, “Good job Red.”
Maybe it was for that too.

Summary
Donnie still builds things; inventing and tweaking away, locking himself in the lab, or the garage with the turtle tank. This time now muttering about further applications of mystic materials in his inventions in techno-speak Raph doesn’t get.
Mikey still works on his creations and skills; crafts spilling out from his room into other areas of the sewers, paintings and drawings of events real and not scattered throughout the sewers, despite Raph reminding him to clean up.
Worst yet, Leo still keeps up the same attitude- of KNOWING things, knowing how to work together, or how to beat some new enemy or who to trust. Just knowing how to be the best at everything- Leonardo. Their LEADER.
And Raph still… He was there.
He was there too.

Summary
Raph had been there for them.
But now it felt like he wasn’t there at all.
Leo said Raph just needed to blow off some steam, to get some of the anger out so he could cool off and then he'd be back to himself in no time at all.
Donnie said some voodo jumbo about hormonal fluctuations leading to anger problems indicative of being a teenager in the middle of puberty- or something like that.
Dad didn’t say anything at all.
