    Agreed - the block is absolutely ridiculous. I mean, it's not like it stops us from posting fics here, too - just makes it take 5 minutes instead of 5 seconds due to the block. :(

      Too true there. This is where back-up copies of our FF.net works can come in handy since we can simply post those works from our back-up copies and put them as new works if we have to with a little information about the work being an FF.net work. FF.net really needs to get a grip and stop blocking everything--and lighten up on fanfics that are rated somewhere between M and MA/E (those are fanfics that are a strong M but not quite an MA/E).

        I'm so confused. FFn is cracking down and erasing our works from there, but don't want us to take our fics elsewhere either... JUST WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT FROM ME?!!

          It frustrates me too.

          FFn doesn't have a say in whether or not we post our FFn works onto A03 or not. All it means is we can't import our works from FFn--we'll have to post them here the hard way.

          FFn really needs to get over it--our works we publish on FFn are OUR property, NOT FFn's property, and we do have the right to publish our works on more than one site without having to put up with any crap from FFn.

          You might have to make a hard copy of your FFn works to use here. Best of luck with this one.

              It's not a perfect solution but it may be the only one.

              Definitely write FF.net and let them know your works you publish on FF.net are YOUR property, NOT theirs, and you have the right to publish your works on more than one site and FF.net has no right to tell you you can't.

                Actually, there is a way to get around the FF.net copy/paste block. Just access the fanfic on the mobile website since it does not have the copy/paste block. Just change the www. to m. in the URL bar and you're good to go.

                      I've also copied and pasted my FF(dot)net fanfics from my hard copy (it pays to keep back-up copies) to here and so far it works like a perfectly-cut gem.

                      I've only started the process of putting my FF(dot)net fanfics here, though, and I don't intended to orphan or delete my works because I know there are fans out there.

We do understand your frustration - a number of sites are locking down their content in a way to prevent even copy/pasting from the page itself, let alone allowing the Importer to function. We've generally found in such situations that using your browser to View Source and copying the HTML directly into the Post New form is a decent workaround.
