Comment on Requiem for Things Unsaid

  1. Okay, this is totally amazing! The beginning is so good. I never even stopped to think about how hard it would be to mimic Miéville's style until I read that and was blown away that you were able to do it!

And the way you have Bellis tell him to keep his pity! Perfect. Really, I'm amazed at how well you pulled this off. Bellis can't quite accept more than this even if Doul might want to offer it.

I am so, so thrilled with this story! You have made my Yuletide wish come true!

    Thank you!!

    1. Ack, I had a nice long reply typed out and then AO3 killed it. Uh.

I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKED THIS. I admit to a kind of terror while I was writing it, because I love Miéville's novels so much, and I really care for Doul and Bellis as characters--you maybe got the one other person who genuinely ships them, hee--and writing gifts makes me nervous anyway, haha. I am really happy that you like the story, and thank you for such a sweet comment!

      1. Oh that's so great that you genuinely ship them! Could you tell I felt a little concerned about that? Thank you so much, again, for this awesome story! You made my Yuletide bright!

        1. Haha yes I could. When I first read the book years ago I was actually very upset that their relationship suddenly disappeared like that. It has always irritated me upon my rereads, too. So, yay closure!
