Comment on In the Hour I Loved You (Like a Dream It Was True)

  1. Plus, I want to add that I also like the idea of Will having his own powers. Before season 5, there were already theories that Will had powers that came from within himself because the series seemed to indicate that.
For example, the Upside Down is frozen on the day he disappeared (one of the theories said that Will had created the Upside Down as a desperate desire to return home, but instead created a twisted and desolate version of it).
Some theories said that his powers were innate, while others said that perhaps Will had fallen into Dimension X and obtained his powers from being in contact with the place for so long (of course, all this before we learned more in the play "The First Shadow" and about Henry/Vecna past and how he actually obtained his powers).
So I like the idea of you wanting to make Will's powers innate/natural, because I think that and their use were very wasted in volume 2 and the finale. It's like you're showing me that Will now has powers and can finally defend himself, taking something that comes from someone who hurt him deeply and ruined his life, now to save those he loves, his loved ones, like a kind of reappropriation.
It just seems like in the end it's all for nothing because he only uses them for a short period of time, which is to warn Max, and then in the final battle, where he tries to reason with His abuser, only for it to be useless because Vecna doesn't listen to him, and then they end up killing Vecna with an axe. There isn't a single Demogorgon in the whole place, and Will's connection to the hive mind is never mentioned, unless it's convenient for the plot.

    1. Exactly! You named a lot of the issues I had with the canon. So I'm gonna try to fix a ton of it
