Summary
Peter sat on the rainbow-colored rug next to a boy with messy black curls. The boy turned toward him and beamed, “Hi, I’m James. What’s your name?”
“Peter,” he replied simply, unsure of how he felt about the other boy’s enthusiasm.
“I like you,” James declared, “We’re going to be best friends forever.”
Well, that was easier than Peter thought it would be.

Summary
Your friends tucked in the upper bedroom, she led you through clovered meadows and down the lily-lined path to the water. White stones smoothed by the tides lined the flower beds; purple sea lavender sprouted from the saline soil by the seaside cliffs. She threw herself off, aiming between the rocks half-concealed beneath the wild blue.
Your heart fluttered in the freefall and seemed to stutter at the salty water’s bite. She threw her arms around you, and your breathless bodies melted together, like ripened fruit in the summertime—too colourful and oversweet.
Laughing, she said, “You always make such expensive mistakes.”

I always got the vibe from Peter that he had an older sister, even if it's not mentioned in canon, so this fic is my headcanon brought to life.
Amy is Peter's hero and everything he looks up to, but as they grow up in an unkind world full of prejudice, they start to grow apart. (my first ever canon-compliant fic omg)
