Summary
Juleka le Flor Blef, nature witch from near the forest of Couffaine, arrives at Eiffel Castle so she can partake in the Queen's Trials - a contest to determine the strongest witch in all of France. She wants to prove the strength of her magic, but when she arrives, her attention is quickly distracted by two very interesting women: Kagami, the princess, who seems to act nothing like a princess should; and Marinette, the blacksmith, who has created a magic all her own through metal, steam, and ingenuity. Juleka is immediately besotted with both of them, and needs to work extra hard to focus on her magic.
Juleka also soon becomes aware that there is stronger magic at Eiffel castle than she had expected. For one thing, there's a tree in the courtyard put there years ago by a witch whose powers seem to surpass hers; for another, there's Alya la Pluvie Versaunt, who must be the most powerful mage Juleka has ever met...

I know I've read this through at least twice before, but that was before I implemented my collection for keeping track of kudos. So I'll just make a note here and go from there.
5/31/26 - Juleka/Mari/Kagami isn't a trio you see often, but damn did they work well together! Hehe, useless lesbians Juleka and Marinette with functional lesbian Kagami getting stonewalled by responsibility and polygamy negotiations. Excellent worldbuilding and storytelling and drama. Halfway in disbelief about Juleka beheading herself. Wasn't the bear and love drama and daring escape enough for dramatics?!?! But regardless, an excellent fic. -

Chev, you are not winning against your sisters.
Verxina is so greedy-- three whole girlfriends? Good for her, good for her.
I'm surprised Chev couldn't get a read on Dorija. If anything, Dorija's core character trait of caring deeply for those she loves should resonate quite strongly with Chev's sibling bond, especially in this fic where that's a big focus. They're also my two favorites of the two families, so I was hoping for a little bit of solidarity. I'll take totally in character competent Dorija inexplicably having every conceivable thing and some that are not on hand.
Very scenic and very well described for a setting that is likely unknown to the average Ao3 reader. [By which I mean the boat and underwater, just to be clear.] On the cusp of completing my creative writing class, I can say this was a great example of setting. -

Orfevre says something, but Shion’s ears are ringing. She doesn’t hear. Her inflection was relatively emotionless as always, so that offers no insight.
Shion just starts laughing, delirious. “You make me sick.” Her heart beats out of tempo, odd palpitations that make her feel panicky. Bile forces its way up her esophagus. Not enough to really vomit, but enough to feel it hot and sour and stinging when she swallows. With trembling fingers, she grabs Orfevre’s face—just to have her in her hands, to feel that facsimile of power. The untouchable king, brought to helplessness.

3/9/26 - Intriguing! The "set dressing" is excellent, and it's obvious that you put a lot of effort into every detail, what with your rambling thread of additional commentary. The language is beautifully executed and structured in such a captivating way. I would like to study your prose under a feather pen and lamplight.
4/20/26 - I would like to put your Shion under a scalpel. Orfevre can stand next to me menacingly with another scalpel just at the edge of Shion's eyesight. Fascinating creatures, the two of them. -

4/21/26 - This was a journey to embark on together. I hope the author knows this was a beautiful work of art, and I applaud your successful engagement in multiple artistic mediums.
