Dont be creepy Munson! (SFW)

Summary:

This was supposed to be a normal house party, sell some weed get drunk, have Steve Harrington sit in his lap- wait what was that last thing?

Aka, Steve learned his friends are assholes and who would understand being an outcast better then Eddie 'the freak' Munson?

Or Steve gets drunk and Eddie takes him home. (not like that)

Work Text:

Steve Harrington is drunk and is sitting sideways on Eddie's lap, one arm around Eddie's neck, drinking something out of a red solo cup.

“Uh, Stevie sweetheart.-“

Steve’s head lulled over, his eyes going side to side drunkenly trying to focus on what Eddie needed.

“Okay, your eyes are doing a lot of this-.  Look right here- at my face. You good? You got it?”

“Yee-ees? I’m locked in.” Steve’s head bobbed slightly as he tried to focus his eyes on eddies trying to ignore the blurry wall behind him.

“Great-great-great. Um, so about uh you being in my lAp?”

“Hm? Am I?- oh shit!” He laughed loud and bright. “When the hell did I get here? When did I even come over here?” Steve tries to think but it was all a blur like a dream just out of reach. The warmth from Eddie was comforting, grounding.

“Yep-yep. You uh came over here about twenty minutes ago and took my drink, before falling into my lap.”

“Huh, guess I did” he laughed, leaning back into Eddie's neck lazily watching the house party around them, taking a sip from the stolen cup.

Eddies drummed his fingers rapidly on Steve’s leg, a nervous habit he never broke. He didn’t know what to do.

Hell, he didn’t know what to do twenty minutes ago!

What are you supposed to do when the ex “king” of Hawkins starts cuddling you on a random couch in a stupid house party?! He and Steve had barely interacted, sure he had a huge glaring crush on the guy but still!

“Uh, you want me to help you find Billy or Tommy?-“

“Noooo, I wanna stay here and get drunk! I don’t wanna talk to those assholes! Dooont make meee.”

Eddie sighed, shifting Steve in his lap, so he could have a hand free. Gently grabbing the mostly empty cup from Steve’s hand, tossing it to the ground.

“Heyyy! The’ hell man?” Steve pouts. Looking longingly at the discarded cup.

“ You're already drunk. Come on, let's try and get you home. It’s late anyways- okay- ya gotta help me here sweetheart.”

“Mmm no.”

Eddie sighed before sifting forward using the bottom of the couch to help force him up. He stood sifting his weight as he held Steve. Who looked bewildered.

“…the hell? How-how did you do that?…” Steve’s head spun, if he were sober he’d be embarrassed about being seen held by the “satanist” freak of Hawkins.

But he really can’t find it in him to care. What was with everyone and stereo types anyway! It pissed him off,… maybe it was because his own box was starting to crack, after Billy got to town he basically beat the crown off his head and took it for himself.

Steve can’t say he was really disappointed. More embarrassed with a bruised ego and face than anything. After learning everyone he thought where his friend wasn’t and were really assholes. Which deep down he already knew.

Still hurt coming to light though.

Maybe that’s why he sunk out the others company… Eddie was considered a freak himself; he didn't care what people said and didn’t care about adhering to stereo types. It must be nice, knowing who you are, without shame.

Eddie carried him outside, finding Steve’s BMW outside, luckily Eddie had caught a ride with his friend, “keys, princess.”

Steve blinked back into reality, had he fallen asleep? When did they move from the couch? What was the question? Oh right!

“…pock-et”

“M-Kay, and you gonna help me get em or? No, of course not. Okay. Stand- no- yeah there you go,” Steve was standing up right with one of Eddie's hands steadying him by his waist.

Eddie sighed, seemingly debating something before reaching into Steve's back pocket grabbing a pair of keys out of the denim. “Sorry sweetheart,” he muttered.

He unlocked the door, helping Steve inside, making sure he was buckled up and mostly comfortable before closing the door, ignoring the upset cry’s from being put down.

Eddie jogged around the car opening the driver side door. He didn’t have the best luck with driving, he knew how! He just wasn’t great at it. But it was better than Steve trying right now.

Luckily he knew where the other lived, Steve had hosted party’s at his house a few times and Eddie had dealt there. Nice house.

 Big.

Empty.

Intimidating.

Eddie pulled onto the road, sparing a glance at the half asleep boy beside him. “You alright, Stevie?”

“Mm yeah… mm’ tired”

Eddie huffed a laugh, the shaking in his hands easing. He turned on the radio surprised to find it was already turned to the rock station, he turned it on low. Just enough for him to hum to, but not loud enough to stop Steve from sleeping peacefully.

“Didn’t take you for a Metallica person. You’  been holding out on me?”

Steve turned propping up against the window, a smile gracing his lips. “Eh, don’t get too excited, Dustin likes the station. Pretty sure it’s your fault, corrupting him with your… whatever the hell.” Steve teased, blinking sleepily.

Eddie laughed, focusing on the road but his eyes flicked to the other. It almost felt domestic… It was nice seeing Steve so relaxed. Safe.

“My fault huh? Better than your pop music that he hums.”

“Hey! My songs are awesome.” Steve moved leaning against the console pressing his forehead against Eddie's arm, it had muscle hidden under the lake t-shirt as Steve had just recently learned.

 He could feel them now.

Feeling the muscle shift under him was comforting, the freak’s presence was comforting… he just couldn’t figure out why.

Ugh,  it made his head spin.

“Almost there sweetheart. Don’t worry.”

Steve felt something touch the top of his head, gently and fast, before it had pulled away as though burned.

“M’kay. Noone’s home. Keys on… keys… yeah…” Steve said as though figuring out where his house keys are was as hard as figuring out the reason for the universe.

Minutes blurred together as Eddie drove him home. Somewhere along the way Steve had fallen asleep again, one arm wrapped around eddies, cuddling it.

Eddie's face was burning by the time he pulled into the drive way for Steve’s house, just barely parking on the pavement.

Eddie looked down at Steve, he really didn’t want to wake him, but he needed to get Steve inside so he could sleep uninterrupted. He gently removed Steve from his arm pressing him back into his own seat, Steve grumbled his face twisting in annoyance. But his eyes stayed stubbornly closed.

Eddie breathed out, wishing to stay in the warm moment, basking in this new version of Steve’s presence for a little longer. But he knew he was being a creep, who sits in a car watching a guy who wasn’t even his friend sleep!?

This was creepy!

Eddie pressed his palms into his eyes for a moment before opening the door, the cold wind helping him come back to his senses, luckily most of the weed he smoked had worn off before he drove, thank the stars for his high tolerance. And Steve had stolen his drink so he was pretty much completely sober.

Which kinda sucked.

Being so in body, his emotions feeling so strong without a wall of weed to dull them.

He walked around to the other side of the BMW, opening the door finding Steve exactly like he left him. He looked towards the house, all of the lights were out. Its presence looming. Eddie shuddered this place was fucking creepy.

It would be smarter to unlock the door before trying to do so and hold Steve…. He glanced back at Steve, before taking off his vest, it wasn’t the warmest thing but maybe it would help a little.

He laid it across Steve's lap before jogging to the front door. Man he hoped Steve was right about his parents not being home.

It took about two tries but he got the dead bolt unlocked, pushing the door in carefully. He peaked inside the dark house, his fingers finding a light beside the door.

Light helped.

It was still way too big and empty but at least he could see.

He jogged back to the car, unbuckling Steve from the seat, weighing his options before sliding an arm under Steve’s legs and one behind his back.

Lifting him out, he kicked the car door shut before wincing, glancing at Steve to make sure he didn’t see that.

Snore

Oh good.

He carried the brunette towards the house slower than normal. Walking into the house looking around before deciding this place just wasn’t his vibe.

He didn’t know how Steve did it.

Eddie walked up the stairs, very slowly. Using the wall to stabilize. “Ya know you really owe me for this princess.”

He huffed. He didn’t even know which room was Steve’s. “Hey, Stevieee~. Baby~. Need you to wake up for just a second.”

“Mphf.. nooo, warm. mm tired..”

“And you can sleep in just a few minutes, which room is yours?”

“What?..” Steve forced his eyes open, trying to make the room stop spinning, he was at home?

“Bedroom. Yours, where.”

“That -one” Steve said moving his arm trying to point before groaning and hiding back in Eddie's neck.

Eddie brought him to the door, glaring at the fact that it was closed. He tried to make Steve stand again, the boy making his opinions about it known.

“I know, I know, almost there.” He opened the door, debating on turning the light on, but the moon light worked well enough.

He helped Steve to the bed, should he help him change? It would suck sleeping in jeans, right?

Or was that weird?

They’d shared a locker room so no big deal right? Oh who was he kidding- this was Steve fucking Harrington! And it was him doing it!

He shook his head, nope not doing it, Steve could suffer. That was definitely a line.

He made sure Steve was fully on the bed grabbing a throw blanket to toss over him. Watching as Steve relaxed curling on his side. Steve curled around the denim vest.

Damn it!… maybe he could just- nope okay. Well he’d get it later.. Hopefully.

Damn he loved that thing.

Eddie walked back down the stairs into the kitchen looking in the fridge for a bottle of water he grabbed one, before moving to the cabinets- ah ha! Pills, he swiped a bottle, carrying the items back to Steve’s room. Sitting them beside the bed, stopping to look at Steve again.

He couldn’t help the shaky hand that ran through Steve’s hair, it was full of product, but he could tell it was soft.

Damn it, so much for trying to not be creepy!

He looked around searching for a piece of paper, finding a stack of post it notes and a pen he scribbled out a message to tell him how he had brought him home. Before peeling it off and sticking to Steve's forehead.

Pay back for making him carry him all night.

Please let me carry him again. Pleaseeee!-

Eddie walked to the door wincing as he remembered his shoes have been on the whole time, rich people had a problems with that didn’t they? He should take Steve’s off shouldn’t he?

Ughhh, he walked back into the room, crouching down to try and untie the shoes. Steve wiggling his feet feeling Eddie move them.

“Ya know you’re making this a lot harder, honey.”

Eddie slid both shoes off, deciding Steve could keep his socks on.

Boundaries Munson!

Eddie carried the shoes and sat them next to the door. Unsure where to put them. “Night sweetheart. Try not to make a habit of getting too drunk to drive home yeah?” Eddie sighed, giving one last longing glance before closing the door.

Making his way back down, sitting the keys near the door. Closing it behind him.

He pressed his back to the heavy front door pressing his hands into his face. Groaning into them. This night could not get worse… better?

He sighed, ignoring the thought. He glanced at Steve’s BMW.

Well shit, guess he’s walking home.
