Aziraphale stared at the test. It was positive. They knew they would need to take a second one to be sure that the test was accurate. Shock flooded their system, they didn't think that their corporation was able to do this. The archangels had said that all angels and demons reproduction system was shut off after the Nephilim incident.
They pulled out the second test and followed the instructions. Aziraphale and Crowley had talked about maybe starting a family if they could do something about the reproductive issues, or adopting some pets. Aziraphale and Crowley had debated adopting human children but because humans lived such short lives they weren't sure they could handle the heartbreak of losing anyone they raised.
They had been teaching various angels and demons about Earth and humanity after the failed Second Coming. It was similar they supposed to expanding their family. They were all healing together.
The last time Jesus and Adam had visited they had hinted at having done something for Aziraphale and Crowley but neither of them had elaborated.
The second test was ready, it was another positive. Aziraphale stared in shock. The only reason they had taken the test in the first place was because their corporation felt off and they had so many pregnancy symptoms, and despite what Heaven and Hell had done to their corporations Aziraphale didn't trust them to have been completely competent with that. Adding in. A cryptic message from Jesus about a surprise bun, they bought some pregnancy tests when they went to the store.
Aziraphale hadn't told Crowley because they didn't want to get his hopes up. Hope and excitement started to rise in Aziraphale's chest.
"Crowley! Dear come here," they called. Trying to keep their excitement reigned in.
"Angel? Where are you?" Crowley responded wandering through the cottage looking for his angel. He hadn't seen them in the kitchen or the library. "Aziraphale is something wrong?"
"I'm in the restroom my dear, and no nothing is wrong." They responded as Crowley wandered into the bathroom.
"Angel you never use this why are you…." Crowley trailed off as he caught sight of the two pregnancy tests that Aziraphale had set on the counter on some toilet roll. "Angel are those? And they are positive?"
Aziraphale had been worried about Crowley's reaction. They weren't sure why they just were always so anxious about reactions to something unexpected they'd done. It was something that they were working on. It was hard to remember they were allowed to take up space and be different and have things unexpected happen.
Aziraphale nodded with his eyes overflowing with tears. "Yes dear I seem to be pregnant, I suspect Adam and Jesus have something to do with this, probably lifting the bans on angels and demons reproducing. We'll have to ask what the guardrails are on this soon. Can you check to be sure though, we don't know how well human pregnancy tests work for celestials."
Crowley nodded happily and put his hands in Aziraphale's abdomen. After the whole Job fiasco he had taken to learning and practicing midwifery, and detecting pregnancies over the many centuries. It was interesting to keep up with humans advances in the field despite some of the horrors humans did. Certain groups of humans had attempted to execute him as a witch because of his knowledge, hut he was always able to escape.
Crowley pushed his consciousness into his miracles so he could properly sense what was going on in Aziraphale's belly. He felt the faint spark of cells dividing rapidly and growing. Tears streamed down his face. "Angel, I can feel them, they are so small right now. All the divisions, I thought this was impossible. We'll have to thank Adam and Jesus for lifting the restrictions."
Aziraphale reached down to cup Crowley's face and bring him towards them. They shared a small sweet kiss, their tears of happiness mixing. "I love you my dear sweet demon, We'll raise them so well and they'll want for nothing. They'll grow up around humans and other celestials."
Crowley nodded in happiness and kissed Aziraphale back hard and backed them into the wall.
