Work Text:
A radiant light glows from above
Casting golden ribbons through the trees below
Chartreuse leaves sway gently with each breath of nature
I rest beneath the ancient boughs and listen to the breeze
A tuneful, gentle melody fills my ears
A dove!
The cooing dove approaches me,
With a grace as soft as morning light
It settles near upon the mossy earth
As though the forest sent a friend to greet me
For but a moment did our paths align
Before it vanished through the emerald leaves
I gaze beyond the grove and watch the stream
That dances brightly in the midday sun
Its waters weave through beds of virent moss
Like fingers combing through green silk
A glimmer slithers across the calm waters
And fades into the ripple of the stream
Where tiny stones lie sleeping beneath glass
And silence hums between the drifting reeds
A ladybug,
Traces quiet paths across my arm
Even the smallest things, unseen and unnoticed
Still have to move gently through the world
I rest again beneath the ancient boughs
Where all the wandering light comes back to stillness
And in the hush between the leaves above
I find a kind of quiet I can call my own
