My own

Summary:

Dwight Schrute was the last person someone would think to have a partner. He was awkward, too obsessed with authority and just plain strange.

So when he brings someone to the company picnic, everyone is shocked.

Chapter 1

Notes:

Hello everyone!

This is a fic that I have had in my head for a while now, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!💕

Chapter Text

-"Alright everyone!"- Michael called as the workers of the Scranton branch gathered around him -"Do we have everyone?"- people looked around, noting their neighbors and silently checking off names in their head.

-"We are missing Toby and Dwight."- Kelly called out.

The others murmured in agreement.

-"Ah, Toby."- Michael shuffled a bit on his feet-"we don't need him." - he huffed and muttered under his breath to the camera -"We do need Dwight, he was all the equipment."

-"We're here, We're here."- Dwight ran up to the group panting, holding a large picnic basket which he had slung over his shoulder.

-"Nice purse Dwight."- Jim called out at the same moment as Pam questioned

-"We?"-

Dwight caught his breath and straightened up to his normal height

-"Michael said this was a family event so–"

-"Yeah"- Michael interrupted -"but I specifically told you that you can't bring your cousin Mose."

Dwight shook his head.

-"I didn't bring Mose"

-"Who did you bring then Dwight?"- Phyllis asked

-"My partner of course."

Everyone stared at him in shock.

-"What?- he asked. -"Phyllis brought Bob Vance and Stanley brought his wife and Jim brought Pam or Pam brought Jim."

Jim threw an amused look at the camera.

-"Nothing is wrong Dwight"- Pam quickly said, before Michael could get his two cents in, or, more likely, abad joke.-"We are all just looking forward to meeting your partner"

-"That is just it"- Jim commented -"Oh is that her?"- he asked, gesturing towards Dwight's picnic basket. -"Pleasure to meet you ma'am"- he stepped towards Dwight with his hand out.

-"Shut up, Jim"- Dwight growled.

Suddenly, a little figure seemed to barrel into Dwight at full speed, laughing as Dwight caught them by the waist and hoisted them onto his back with one arm.

-"Hi!"- the little figure chirped from his new perch on Dwight's back, turning out to be a boy who looked to be 19 or younger. -"I'm Hadrian, Dwight's husband, it's a pleasure to meet you all!"

And then he grinned unrepentant, as if he hadn't just set off the ultimate bomb in the middle of a group of people.

'Husband?!'- Pam mouthed to the camera in shock.

This day would definitely be interesting.
