Once upon a time
On an ocean grand can be
A group of Merry pirates
Gathered to agree
The island-destination
The next dot on the map
The adventures that awaited
The riches they could tap
Luffy was the captain
Straw hat on his head
Of details cared he not
As long as food widespread
Navigator Nami
Narrowed her thin brows
Naturally focused on the
Next course she allowed
Pirate hunter Zoro
Dozing off nearby
Three swords lay beside him
Easy to comply
Usopp Grand Inventor
Pretending to be tough
Pointed out that danger
Would steer the ship to luff
And then there was the Cook
Cigarette in mouth
Making sure that they stocked up
Their pantry's sudden drought
So the vessel barrelled
Through the rising waters
Seagulls perching on
The crow's nest used for spotters
Time passed rather lazy
Onboard the Straw Hats ship
Weather unassuming
The canvas in wind's grip
The swordsman busy training
Paused seeing the cook
His heart quietly yearning
The man's slender good looks
The blonde chef's pretty hair
Covering half face
His brilliant sea-blue eyes
His long legs tight embrace
Alas, there was no use
Nature made them rivals
Fighting, screaming, glaring
Instead of love's arrivals
The isle's name was just that
Easily forgotten
Once heard never shared
Out of mind begotten
A sorceress in a hut
Offering what they needed
Her honest smile disassembling
Any threat they heeded
She gave Luffy a necklace
A fierce tooth hanging loose
Complimenting bravery
From his eyes she could deduce
Nami got a shell
Of iridescent beauty
Said to carry secrets
Of gold-filled pirate's booty
A sapling in its infancy
Inside a red clay pot
Suggested to Usopp
To reach the powers sought
The complimenting Cook
Working charming tongue
Got himself a sack of fruit
Such praises high he sang
But when it came time Zoro's
The witch had but a smile
She looked at him with knowing eyes
His mouth filling with bile
Be patient! Don't give up!
Was all she had to say
The swordsman all but grunted
Keeping nerves at bay
They questioned interaction
On their way back ship
His lips never revealing
A hilt hard in his grip
And so the pirates went
Adventuring in mind
Always ready, always there
As the swordsman pined
The time pass never dulled
His feelings for the Cook
He hoped that one day
His way the man might look
And when the day had come
The crew was hastily split
By enemy so powerful
They just could not compete
The woman's careful words
Were often playing loud
When he remembered his own crew
the cook and so he vowed
To reach might of the sort
So they would never fear
The next time they faced danger
He'd protect the ones held dear
But also, smaller promise
Held tightly inside
The next time he saw cook
He wouldn't choose to hide
His love but grew in strength
His mind set on a goal
He'd make the Cook his own
He promised to his soul
And when the time had come
For Straw Hats reunite
The swordsman saw the cook
His blonde hair catching light
Patience he had carried
Never given up
And so he strolled forward
With zeal the time had wrought
The cook saw him approach
Cigarette in hand
Looking ever better
Betrayed by lonely strand
Zoro reached out
And tucked the golden hair
The cook staring in shock
Caught like in a tight snare
Standing on an island
Surrounded by palm trees
Zoro had confessed
His love as deep as seas
And that was just beginning
The prelude to the pair
So fearsome in their strength
There was no place to err
Together they remained
Fate giving its blessing
The time refused to matter
Their love but coalescing
