Chapter Text
Ever since last semester ended abruptly following the death of Principal Dort, the Hyde fight and the explosion in Iago Tower, Wednesday has spent every waking moment searching for her best friend and roommate Enid Sinclair and Wednesday has vowed to not stop until she has that girl in her arms once again. Now finding her was one thing, getting her to change back to a human was another. She has consulted her parents trying to get their advice and they said that they'd talk to Grandmama and the others in the family to see if they'd know how to get an Alpha Werewolf to change back to a human. Wednesday was more than aware that there were beast hunters in these woods that would love nothing more than to catch and kill a werewolf. A few nights ago, her mother told her that apparently there was a chant in the Ophelia's book that would be able to change Enid back to a human.
When she originally departed Nevermore, she had packed clothes not just for herself, but for her best friend. She had an Addams family branded hoodie and sweatpants.
One night, about a quarter mile from the Canadian border, Wednesday and Fester were camped out under the stars on a cloudless and rather cold fall night. It was a crescent moon and every time she looked at it, Wednesday was reminded of Enid.
She couldn't stop thinking about that night, being buried alive, being dug out by Agnes and....Enid..except she wasn't in her human form.
Enid has wolfed out to save her again. she sacrificed her humanity to save her roommate for the 2nd time in like 2 semesters. There was no way Wednesday was ever going to pay her back.
Wednesday had heard rumors of hunters in the area and she knew she had to act quickly to save her friend.
A few nights later, Wednesday was walking through the woods about 2 miles from the Canadian border when she heard a loud noise. suddenly, Fester, who was nearby, yelled "WEDNESDAY..COME QUICK..:" causing Wednesday to run quickly to his location. As she got close, she saw a large beast face to face with her uncle. right then and there, she recognized it as Enid. blonde-ish white fur with those blue and pink highlights on her head. she was much larger than she remembered. her face was a few inches from Fester who for some reason, found it funny as he just stood there cheesin' his butt off acting like it was all a joke. Acting quickly, Wednesday got the book out and sat on the ground and began an impromptu seance without candles. She sat indian style and closed her eyes and began chanting.
by the end of the chant, she opened her eyes and saw the wolf was still looking at Fester. her smile had begun to disappear as she thought she failed. just as she put the book away, she noticed something with Enid, the faint sound of cracking was heard. Enid's large figure was getting smaller, Wednesday noticed her fur was also receding. She ran over as quick as possible to her roommate's side. Fester still stood there with a giant smile on his face. By the time Wednesday got to where Fester was, Enid had already shifted back to a human, she was bloody, like she'd been through a war, she was very muscular. and she was naked. Wednesday wasted no time going over and taking off her coat to place it over Enid and soon, she started stirring, soft groans being heard from the girl as she was understandably sore.
Wednesday carefully sat down beside Enid and as Enid became aware of where she was, she looked and the 1st person she saw was Fester which spooked her a little but she turned and saw Wednesday and she immediately went and wrapped her arms around her.
"WEDNESDAY" was all Enid could say in a raspy voice as she buried her face in Wednesday's chest, and soon, her body started shaking because she was sobbing so hard.
"It's ok Enid, I'm here, you're safe..no more worrying." Wednesday said as she slowly rubbed Enids back feeling how muscular the werewolf had become due to being out here for so long.
having her roommate in her arms after all this time was a feeling that Wednesday didn't want to end. but she knew, they had to get back home because believe it or not, the new semester at Nevermore was starting soon.
"I told you I was going to hunt you down didn't I?" Wednesday said as Enid buried her face in her chest.
Realizing that there was no way they were going to make it back to the Mansion that day, she had Fester take them to a hotel and to go pick up dinner for them befor going back home and to get Lurch to bring them back to the mansion. So that's what they did.
When they got to the hotel and got settled. The 1st thing Enid did was get a much needed bubble bath that Wednesday set up, while Enid relaxed and freshened up, Wednesday ordered food and then got changed for the night knowing they had a long day tomorrow
Enid cleaned herself up and when she finished, she walked out to the room to see a large bag of food and Wednesday laying in bed and there was clothes laying at the end of the bed folded up.
Enid walked up to the clothes, saw a hoodie, pants and even underwear which Enid thought was really sweet how Wednesday thought of her like that.
She walked back in the bathroom to get changed and saw that the hoodie had the Addams family insignia on it. the hoodie was very comfy and smelled like Wednesday.
she walked out to see Wednesday "did..you get all this stuff for me?"
"The food is for us, the clothes are all yours!" Wednesday said with a smile on her face
"AWW WEDNESDAY!" Enid yelled as she walked over to hug her bestfriend and then suddenly stopped right as she was about to hug her
"I can hug you right?" she asked with her arms aready wide
"Yes Enid" she was barely able to finish this sentence before Enid wrapped her arms around Wednesday and hugged her gently
as Enid laid down in the next bed over, she looked at Wednesday who looked like she was relieved
"Hey Wednes?" she asked in a low tone
Wednesday looked back at her with a mouth full of food "Yeah?"
"Thanks for hunting me down!" she said still with a raspy low voice
"I told you I would didn't I, and you know i don't break promises" Wednesday said as she took a bite of her chicken strips
"I ordered us dinner from a diner down the road and had Fester pick it up before he went back home." Wednesday said as she pointed to the big brown bag filled with dinner for the 2 of them.
Enid went to the bag and pulled out 4 large roast beef sandwiches and some fries.
She looked at Wednesday then back down at the food and she started to cry a little.
"You better eat Enid, I know you're starving" Wednesday said as she took another bite. "try and eat slow otherwise you'll get sick"
Enid did just that, really savoring every bite and enjoying everything as Wednesday put on a movie and the girls just relaxed for the night.
once their meals were done and their bellies were full. Wednesday watched a little tv while Enid scrolled on her phone and soon, both were feeling very tired after a really long day.
It didn't take long for Wednesday to fall asleep but Enid was having trouble and no matter what she did, she could not sleep.
She tried everything to fall asleep but nothing was working. she had 1 more idea but she knew it relied on Wednesday actually being willing and she knew Wednesday would say no but it was worth a shot.
She turned to look at Wednesday, and finally spoke up "Hey Wednesday?"
to her surprise, she answered "Yes Enid?"
"I can't sleep. I'm really trying but I just can't"
without saying anything else, Wednesday moved over a little and Enid wasn't sure what to do!"
"Well?'
"What?"
"You coming over here or what?"
"OMG, YOU'LL LET ME CUDDLE WITH YOU? WEDNESDAY YOU'RE SO SWE-"
"ENID..get over here before I change my mind"
without wasting another second, Enid came over to Wednesday's bed and slowly got into bed and proceeded to get comfortable. the most shocking thing was when Wednesday took her and brought Enid in closer and Enid laid her head on Wednesday's shoulder.
And within a few minutes, Enid was out like a light.
Both girls got a great night's sleep which was much needed.
Wednesday woke up 1st the next day and slowly maneuvered her arm from behind Enid who unsurprisingly was still sound asleep and proceeded to go get a shower.
As the shower started, Enid woke up and got her stuff ready so she could shower when Wednesday was done.
Enid was getting her stuff ready when she heard the shower stop and soon, the door opened and out stepped Wednesday, hair braided perfectly and she was already dressed for the day in a black and white long sleeve shirt with black pants and she pointed to the shower which meant it was her turn.
Her shower was rather quick but boy did she need it. she looked in the mirror and saw her hair was a little longer and the colors had faded and she was very muscular. she couldn't resist flexing in the mirror and she even amazed herself at how ridiculously buff she was. she was definitely going to attract attention when she got back to Nevermore.
Wednesday knew Lurch was on his way so they had to be ready. Enid came out of the bathroom with her bra and pants on but she needed a little help with her shirt since her arms were stll very sore and Wednesday was more than happy to help.
"When we get back to the mansion, we'll color your hair ok?" Wednesday told Enid as she put her shirt on and then walked to the bathroom to put the stuff from there in the bag for the trip home.
"Wait, I'm going to your house?" Enid said with wide eyes and a shocked expression on her face.
"Yeah Enid. you ain't going back to California this close to the new semester" Hearing that made Enid even happier. "YOU MEAN i GET TO RIDE WITH YOU BACK TO NEVERMORE TOO?" Enid was beaming with excitement at this.
"Don't forget Pugsley too" Wednesday found herself smiling at that too.
When Lurch arrived, the 2 girls quickly walked to the car after giving the key to the main office and got in and headed home.
"Take us home Lurch" Wednesday said and Lurch replied with a groan and soon, they were off back to New Jersey.
"Mother is going to love seeing you again Enid. especially in your new physical form.
Enid herself couldn't wait to see Morticia again. she always admired how Morticia and Gomez were as parents compared to her own. She tried not to think about her own parents in California who probably didn't even know she went missing not like they cared anyways.
Enid looked out the window of the Addams hurse for most of the ride, watching all the trees go by and she glanced down at her hoodie that she still wore. it was warm and fuzzy and she might never take it off.
After what seemed like forever, they reached the New Jersey state line and soon after that, Lurch made the turn down their driveway and they were at the Addams Mansion.
As they pulled up, Enid saw Morticia, Gomez, Pugsley and even Grandmama on the front porch waiting for them although Enid told herself that they were simply waiting for Wednesday.
Wednesday exited the car 1st and then was followed by Enid who was significantly taller than the last time Wednesday's parents saw her. Enid looked and noticed how happy they were and once again brushed it off as they were happy to see their daughter again.
it wasn't until she walked to the front porch and Gomez welcomed her with a big hug that she realized they really were happy to see her. Gomez smelled like expensive cigars and classic whiskey and he even noted how tall she got and how muscular she had gotten too.
after she finished with Gomez, she felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to see Morticia with her usual motherly smile and her soft eyes looking at her.
"I'm so glad you're safe Enid." she said as she also wrapped her arms around Enid.
"Wednesday told me I was staying here until we go back to Nevermore" Enid asked unsure if it was true
Morticia nodded "You are staying with us until you and Wednesday go back next week" that's when it hit Enid that she had been gone for so long. The realization made her tear up and she almost broke down on the Addams' front porch until Wednesday walked up and spooked her almost scaring her out of her skin. "GOD WEDNESDAY YOU GOTTA STOP SNEAKING UP ON ME. YOU'RE WORSE THAN AGNES".
Speaking of her, she was a crucial part in helping me find you." hearing the girl that she originally thought was a creep actually helped Wednesday find her made her feel so bad about being so mean to her before.
soon, Wednesday guided Enid into the house and to where her room was. once her stuff was settled, Wednesday wasted no time and went and grabbed the hair dyes.
Enid was excited to have Wednesday do her hair. She always wanted to grow it out a little, so she wasn't concerned with length, but it had lost all it's color over time and Wednesday began the long process of re-coloring her hair like it was before. one side blue and the other side pink. Enid caught herself watching Wednesday in the bathroom mirror a few times and Wednesday acted like she didn't notice but Enid knew she saw and laughed to herself.
Enid couldn't stop thinking about her other friends at Nevermore and how they probably thought she was still missing and how shocked they'll be when they see her again especially with Wednesday.
The rest of the week went by quick as Enid got accustomed to living her life again and enjoying her time with the Addams family which mainly included helping Pugsley and Wednesday around the house which she actually enjoyed mainly because she got to spend quality time with her best friend even if it meant helping clean up the house but overall, it wasn't that bad actually.
Before she knew it, it was time to go back to Nevermore. She was admittedly nervous as she got in the car with Wednesday, still donning the Addams; Family hoodie that Wednesday had given her when she was rescued. she couldn't stop looking at the "A" insignia which was placed on the heart which to Enid meant that she was now an Addams at heart and that meant more than anything especially now. Enid would admit that getting in the hurse with the whole Addams family felt surreal knowing that a barely a year ago, she didn't even know Wednesday and now she's riding to school with them.
As they crossed into Vermont, Enid couldn't stop glancing over at Wednesday who was sitting next to her seemingly oblivious that her friend was staring at her.
Enid was snapped out of her trance by Morticia "Are you ready to go back to Nevermore Enid dear?"
"uh, yeah..I guess so" Enid said clearly unprepared for interaction of any kind
"don't worry, everything will be ok. Wednesday will make sure of it. right my little scorpion?" Gomez chimed in and Enid quickly noticed Wednesday was now looking at her. She even noticed the raven was even...smiling...a little
Just then, Enid felt something cold touch her hand. she looked down to see Wednesday had placed her hand on top of Enid's.
"Anyone says or does anything, I'll make sure they instantly regret it." Wednesday said with that tone that told Enid that she was serious and all of a sudden, Enid had that warm feeling in her gut knowing that she was back with her best friend again and that she was safe.
Hearing that Wednesday would physically and emotionally harm any soul who dared mess with her made Enid all warm and fuzzy inside. although this feeling was different that normal because she knew that she was safe from any harm whatsoever. She couldn't help but picture in her head, Wednesday threatening someone with one of her many weapons that she always had on her just for looking at her the wrong way.
