Chapter Text
The containment room was completely white in color; its walls, floor and lights were of the same tone. Inside there was a bed, in which Cyn was sleeping, the only thing with her was a bonsai in a pot sitting on a piece of furniture. There was a glass separating her from the rest of the room. On the other side there was Mitchell, who stared at the screen of his computer, checking and reviewing Cyn’s status.
When he stared at her, he saw how she woke up and stood, slowly walking to check on the little bonsai.
“How do you feel, Cyn?” He asked.
The silver haired worker drone looked at the human through the glass. She saw Mitchell, a man wearing a white coat, black pants and heavy leather boots. A plaque hung from his coat, which had written his name and the name of the corporation he worked for: JcJenson.
Mitchell noticed that her eyes were scared eyes, seeking comfort from something: the bonsai.
That nightmare again I guess… he thought.
“I think I feel good…” she replied, weakly.
I don’t think so, Mitchell thought as he studied the computer’s logs, it showed signs of weakness and…
Fever? Mitchell wondered, I suppose Solver Drones can feel sick too.
“Well… dizzy to be honest. I had that nightmare again.”
“The four monsters and the eight shadows or whatever it is?” he asked.
Cyn nodded. Mitchell saw bags had formed under her white digital eyes.
It’s the fifth time now, it’s torturing her. What does it mean? He always wondered what significance Cyn’s nightmares would provide given she’s a Solver User. Everytime Cyn commented about these nightmares he would report it, adding that it should be studied, but his reports about these nightmares were always dismissed and labeled as: “Some kind of superstition.”
It’s no superstition, it has to be something else! Mitchell insisted.
“Well Cyn, try not to think about it, I’ll see if I can get a solution to this growing problem, alright?”
She nodded again.
Mitchell would be lying if he said he wasn’t growing fond of the Worker Drone. Since the first day he was tasked with supervising and inspecting Cyn, he started to think that, in a way or another, she was alive.
“I also saw something different today…” Cyn added, Mitchell turned to her, listening to her words: “I saw a purple haired Worker Drone in a dream, she was… rebellious, so to speak, living in a bunker with her fellows under a frozen world.”
He frowned, processing what she said, thinking about what it would possibly mean.
“She plotted to escape, to live. She suffers, she suffers greatly as I do with this curse…”
Mitchell had no words for this.
But now he knew one thing, his greatest suspicion became true. These weren’t any dreams… These were visions!
