Avery was SOOOOO BORED
It was math class,or what would be math class if the teacher even bothered to come in. The teacher did give them an assignment,sure but it wasn't like anyone was even doing the it!
Except Derek of course,he's the only one working on the assignment,being the rigid perfect student he is. Huh,maybe Avery should go bother him.
Walking up to Dereks desk and sliding into the unoccupied seat in front of it. Before Avery could even get a word in,Derek cut him of.
"What do you want?"
"I'm bored."
"So?,go bother someone else."
"But every one is either sleeping or on their phones! "
"Well,I'm working so go find something else to do." Derek said with finality. Looking back down at his paper and beginning to scribble on it once again.
Alright. So Derek didn't help,maybe Avery should find something else to entertain himself.
Avery looked down at Dereks clutterd desk, trying to find something to maybe fidgit with. Spotting Dereks pencil case,one of those big ones with a lot of pockets. Avery grabbed it and started rummaging through it
"If you want to borrow some thing. Tell me first,"Derek muttered,while still not looking up from his paper.
Avery continued rummaging through Dereks pencil case,ignoring Dereks previous comment. Avery decided to grab the chunky multi-colored ballpoint pen he found in one of the pencil cases pockets.
Avery started drawing small stars on his wrist with the ballpoint using the blue ink option. "Your going to end up getting ink poisoning if you keep doing that" Derek said,finally looking up from his paper.
"Oh shut up smartass"Avery said,continuing to scribble on his skin,this time a picture of a jellyfish.
By now Avery already has a lot of different doodles on his skin. Going from his wrist to his forearm there was barely any space left for him to draw on.
That leaves the skin on the hand he was using to hold the pen. That hand being his dominant hand of course,and Avery knew that if he used his non-dominant hand the drawing would come out looking shitty.
Averys inner dilema must have been evedent on his face,because Derek interupted this his thoughts,"draw on my hand."
"What?"
"Draw on my hand"Derek repeated again.
"Why?"Avery said rather dumbly.
"Because you dont have anymore space on your left hand,and you wouldn't want to use your left hand to draw on your right hand because your not good at using it. So draw on my hand" Derek said while offering up the hand that wasn't currently holding a pen
still slightly dumbfounded by the offer,Avery took Dereks hand in his. Avery thought of things to draw,settling on a few flower connected to each other with vines for now.
Derek keept his hand completely still the entire time Avery was drawing. Not even reacting to the pen sliding across his skin,just continuing on his work like nothing was different.
After finishing the flowers Avery was at a loss. He was out of ideas for what to draw. So he fell back into the one thing he always did,Minecraft.
Avery started drawing little Minecraft bees on Dereks wrist,then a grass block,then a creeper face.
"Is that Minecraft?,'Derek suddenly asked
"Oh? Yeah it is"
"You play Minecraft?"
"Yeah,and I'm pretty darn good at it to!" Avery exclaimed a bit too loudly. He loved Minecraft, it was his favorite game.
"Oh,I uh do to" Derek replied, seemingly a bit startled at Averys sudden loudness.
"Oh cooolll. What do you usually play?, Like survival orr?"
"I play survival single player alot,I'm a bit of a builder"
"Oooh cool!. I suck at building, I've always been more of a pvp person. That why I play Skywars a lot"Avery excitedly said. Avery didn't have a lot of friends who played Minecraft,well he didn't have any irl friends that played minecraft with him.
"Maybe...we should play Minecraft together" Derek said awkwardly,like he was forcing himself to say it.
"Oh! I mean sure! What's your gamer tag?"Avery questioned,fishing for his phone in pocket -that was currently at 8% battery- to type Dereks username o his notes app0
"It's-uh D3rlord3"
"Damn that a cool name!"Avery exclaimed."mines TheMostMayo."
"Why mayo?"
"I dunno, I just like it"
At the end of the day Derek and Avery make plans to play Minecraft together. And Derek comes home with an arm filled with pretty pictures and a heart that feels like its about to burst out of his chest.
