“Thank you so much, Spock,” McCoy said. “These flowers are beautiful. They are just covered with blossoms. And so many petals!”
“Each petal represents all of the many times I have found joy in your arms,” Spock said diplomatically.
“Damn romantic Vulcan,” McCoy muttered. “You’ll be rewarded accordingly.”
Spock looked smug.
But the next day McCoy was disgruntled. “Better have the mess hall folks brew you up some ginger tea,” he told Spock. “Make it double strength!”
“I don’t think we have anything like that,” Kirk supplied.
“Then get the Vulcan some industrial-strength body starch! Anything to stiffen him up!”
