Will you hold me tight?

Summary:

So basically I made this for just two lines I heard from a friend that reminded me of Jay and Dick and had to write a whole story about it. Anyways what if all the bat sons were Bruce’s biological kids? What if Jason still died? What if Bruce was actually a good dad? Well that’s what’s happening in this version of history! (Updates every 3-4 days unless something happens!)

Chapter 1: The beginning

Chapter Text

Dick! Come here son!” Bruce called out from the living room, rocking the little one in his arms slowly, hoping to keep him quiet until Dick came inside.

“Coming!” Dick yells from somewhere inside the mansion and a couple moments later the little 4 year old appeared from the stairwell. Dick ran over to Bruce and stopped a little bit from his father.

“What’s in that?” Dick asked him, pointing at the little blanket bundle in his dad’s arms.

Bruce smiled and stopped rocking the baby in his arms before gently adjusting the babe to show Dick his face. “This is your new little brother Dick. His name is Jason.” Bruce explained to his older son, smiling down at little Jason in his arms. Jason for his part was happily asleep, binky in mouth and wrapped in a snug blanket. Dick gasped happily when he heard his dad’s words and started cheering and running around in the room, jumping on the couch’s and such in joy.

“I have a little brother! I’m a big brother!!!” Dick cheered a little louder this time before being interrupted by crying. Closing his mouth, Dick ran over to Bruce and Jason and gently scooped up Jay from his dad’s arms.

“Shhh, shhh, I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Don’t cry little brother, it’s okay. I’m here. Your big brother’s here.” Dick shushed the baby as he tried soothing him. He kept shushing and comforting little Jason in both English and Romanian until the little one had calmed down and was nuzzling against him as much as a tied up baby could.

Bruce took out his phone and snuck a quick photo of his boys before getting up to join them on the floor. “You’re doing great with him already, son. Looks like he loves you too.” Bruce chuckled while ruffling Dicks hair a little.

“I’m going to keep him safe forever. He’s just so cute!” Dick declares, fierce determination shining in the little kid's eyes.

“Of course you will Dick. And you’ll be the best brothers. I just know it.” Bruce smiled softly, cupping Dicks cheek before kissing his forehead softly.

“Can I have Jason now Dick? It’s almost time for his nap and you still need to eat dinner before it gets too late. You’re lucky Alfred even let you skip out on dinner early without too many questions” Bruce told him as he held his arms out for Jason.

Pouting, Dick gave in and slowly gave the baby back to his dad, even if he really wanted to just hug him forever instead of letting go for a few minutes to eat.

“Thank you son. Now, go eat your food before it gets cold.” Bruce hummed as he stood back up and bounced Jason in his arms.

Dick got up himself and nodded before heading down the halls to the dining room, running every few steps in hopes to get back to Jason quicker. Bruce smiled as he watched the boy's form disappear between the walls and paths in the house. When he can’t see Dick anymore he looks down at Jason and smiles softly.

“You already got your big brother wrapped around your finger chum.” He chuckled, starting to walk towards his bedroom where Jason’s crib’s at. “He’s going to adore your spoiled butt.” He cooed, kissing Jason’s little forehead.

The baby keened at the kiss before some specks of dust flew into his nose. His eyes crinkled and his tiny mouth pulled open before he sneezed, a loud, long progression of sneezes going off before the little one was done. Bruce wiped his neck with his shirt and sighed, remembering it’ll all be worth it when his little one was able to understand manners.

“Looks like we have a little rocket in our mists don’t we Jay?” Bruce chuckled as he opened his bedroom door and stepped inside.

The room is pretty spacious besides the corner where Jason’s things are. Sure he had made a nursery room for the boy but he didn’t really trust leaving Jason there alone. Always felt like an old witch would come to steal his son or something. So instead he bought another crib and placed it in the corner next to his bed in case something happened in the middle of the night.

There were tons of baby toys littered around the floor next to the crib and Bruce nearly tripped over a smaller one when he got caught up by Jason’s little blabbes. “Ayy I got to clean this up. There’s no point in making Alfred clean up your endless messes every day. He already does too much for us.”

Bruce shook his head as he finally got to the crib and lowered Jason into it. “Good night my dear son,” he whispered as he stood back up.
