Chapter Text
A school of fish danced past a young boy, their colours a mesmerising rainbow and their silver scales dancing in the sunlight. The coral surrounding him gave the scene some ambiance
The sandy haired child danced with them, a carefree spirit in their own world.
Here he was, playing in the light that filtered through the sea, a rainbow of a siren who never felt worthless. A 12 year old boy who was loved and respected by his 3 friends.
A rainbow canary.
Nothing like the stars, always forgotten and never truly loved. That was his life, where everyday was a struggle.
The somber boy, the same age of his sunny counterpart, was not surrounded by adoration and beauty.
No, instead he was being stalked by sharks and hate that threatened to silence him.
A weeping unicorn.
How could the 2 ever become friends?

Scott was running for his life. He was being chased from the twilight. The world he was born in was a wasteland of rich fucks, a barren place full of discrimination and crime.
All he wanted was to leave.
But being the richest woman in the twilight zone’s son, he was scrutinized and his bitch of a mum couldn't care less.
So he packed a bag of fish and some jade he stole off her. But she never noticed anything so what was a few jade here and there. Ready to start a new life and ready to see the wonders that lay above.
He had heard tell of a sea parallel to this one, where sometimes the lights would twinkle and were the most beautiful thing all those who told of it had seen and that was his mission. To find the sea of stars.
He was half way out of this dump before the public couldn't find their perfect little prince and someone snitched on him.
Just his luck.
So now he had 3 guards on his tail that refused to give up the chase. And they were catching up.
The moment he broke the barrier between the twilight and the shallows they backed off and stared up at him like they knew he was dead the moment he left.
No one knew what it was like, other than the fact that there were monsters out of the water that would snatch you up like they do to fish.
All would be worth it when he saw the phenomena known as the stars.

Scott kept traveling and ended up in a colourful place, he thinks they were called coral biomes. He read about them in the little time he had spared.
It was wonderful, the small light that filtered through in the night time glinted off of the sea floor perfectly. But he kept climbing to the top.
Scott surfaced and stared up. It was… better than anything. The boy flipped to his back to truly take it in.
The twinkling of the flecks of light were dazzling. Their radiance was like a soft whisper in total silence.
The colours of it were stunning and the moon was full, as if it had been preparing for this moment for all its time.
This wasn't so bad… there weren't any monsters coming to snatch him up. No, there were only the stars, the sea and him.
The beauty of it was hypnotic and he started to doze off with the waves lapping at him. His blanket was the lights of hope dancing above him.
And with that he drifted off to sleep more peacefully than he had ever before...
