Notes:

First chapter of my Brand new story called (temp) The struggle of Parental Divorce......I couldn't think of anything else for the story title.

Normal was going to be Reed-Prescott, but then I wanted to write Mark Evans and Sidney together, finally. More of the Evans family to come.

Only a slow burn because, thanks to her dad, Olivia thinks she doesn't deserve to be loved.

I really need to stop writing Olivia sad all the time.

The next chapter will be Kirby getting the call from Julie about Olivia running away from Kate, who calls Jill.

I still don't like Jill, but I love the Scream 4 friend group aka the friendship trip (Kirby, Olivia, and Jill).

And I know I said in the latest chapter of Fight and Surive that I could do like five more chapters, but sadly, I can't, so I'm only going to do what I can before I end the story.

This takes place before the events of scream 4.

Just saw an interview with Hayden, and my heart breaks for my girl so much. I stand with her forever and always.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Chapter One: The Day Olivia Morris Runs Away

Walking out of Mr. Baker's class with a drained look on her face, Olivia finally tells Jill and Kirby something she's been keeping from them. Lying on the hood of Kirby's car, Olivia finds herself getting paid a visit by someone she tutors at the library. Returning home from the library, Olivia suddenly walks into her parents fighting. After processing what her father just told her, Olivia tearfully finds herself running out of the house while Julie runs after her.

Here's the first chapter of my brand-new story called the Struggle of Parental Divorce (It was the only thing I could think of at the moment). And like all my other first chapters, they will suck, but I will try to make it up to you guys in the actual chapter.

Walking out of Mr. Baker's classroom with a drained look plastered on her face, Olivia Morris found herself walking over toward her locker while her two best friends, Jillian "Jill" Roberts and Kirby Reed, followed after her with worried looks on their faces.

After watching as Olivia struggled to open the wrong locker, Kirby shared a quick look with Jill before she walked over to Olivia's side as she placed a hand on the brunette's shoulder.

Feeling a hand on her shoulder unexpectedly, Olivia quickly jumped away from the person, only to learn that it was only Kirby, causing a small regretful look to form on her face.

"Shit! I'm sorry, Kirb. You scared the shit out of me," Olivia said.

Giving Olivia a warm smile, Kirby walked back over toward the guitarist's side while Jill walked toward them as well. "That's alright, Livie. Hey! Are you feeling okay? You were opening the wrong locker not that long ago,"

"Was I? Damnit, I really need to stop doing that before someone thinks that I'm trying to break into their locker,"

Kirby frowned.

After walking over toward the right locker, Olivia finally opened her locker before she placed her bag onto the ground in between her and her locker tiredly.

"You didn't answer my question, Liv. Are you feeling okay?" Kirby said.

Grabbing everything she needed for her next few classes, Olivia finally nodded her head at Kirby's question. "Yeah, I'm fine, Buttercup. Why do you ask?"

"Maybe becuase you haven't slept in days or weeks. And let's not forget that you tried to open the wrong locker,"

Olivia sighed.

"Alright! You broke me down, Kirby," Olivia said. After placing her belongings in her schoolbag, Olivia slowly closed her locker before gently resting her head against the cold metal. "My parents have been fighting for the past week,"

Jill frowned as she leaned against the locker beside Olivia's. "That would explain all of the yelling and crashing sounds I've been hearing lately. I honestly thought you were watching an intense fight,"

"Yep! Their fighting has been keeping me up the entire time," Olivia whispered. "I haven't had a good night's sleep in days. I've been trying to avoid them in the house as well,"

"You should have called me, Liv. I would have come running to get you for the night,"

Olivia frowned.

Grabbing her schoolbag from the ground, Olivia slowly placed the strap of the bag onto her shoulder before she gave her two best friends a warm and trustworthy smile.

"I didn't want to disturb you with my problems," Olivia said. Looking up at the clock on the wall, Olivia let out a small, broken-up sigh. "I'm doing mighty fine for someone who hasn't slept in days. Look! I will try to take a nap during lunch,"

Shaking her head at Olivia worriedly, Kirby gently grabbed the brunette by the right arm, causing the latter to whine in protest. "Nope! I'm taking you straight to the nurse, Olivia Lyn Morris. You need sleep before you end up in the hosptial,"

"But I don't like the nurse's office, Kirb. It has a weird smell. Also! Why the entire government name?!!!"

Kirby chuckled.

After finally realizing that Kirby wasn't going to break, Olivia found herself letting out a small, defeated sigh as she finally let the horror fan drag her off toward the nurses' office while Jill watched them leave.

Jill chuckled.

"Those two like each other but won't admit it," Jill said. Watching as Trevor and Robbie walked past her, Jill quickly ran after the boys as the bell finally rang once. "Boys! You're stuck with me until one of my girls comes back,"

Robbie whined. "Fine! But you better not whine about anything becuase I will leave and take Trevor with me,"

Trevor laughed.

After slapping her boyfriend on the back of his head, Jill watched as Kirby gently pushed Olivia into the nurse's office with the help of Charlie and Jenny Randell.

Looks like Olivia's fear of the nurses' office is slowly coming back to the girl.

(Two Hours Later. Outside Woodsboro High School)

Walking out of Woodsboro High with her sunglasses resting on top of her head, the first thing Olivia saw was Kirby sitting on the hood of her car, watching as Jill chased Trevor Sheldon around the cars.

Walking up to Kirby's car with a small smile on her face, Olivia slowly sat down on the empty spot beside Kirby before she gently lay down as she placed her sunglasses on her eyes.

"Get any sleep, Livie?" Kirby asked.

Olivia slowly shook her head as a small yawn suddenly left her mouth. "No! Every time I tried, someone would walk into the office coughing ot complaining. It was annoying as well,"

"You can lie down in the back of my car if you want. I will wake you up when the class is about to start," Kirby said. "You really need to sleep, Livie. I'm starting to worry about you're phyical heath,"

"Buttercup! I feel fine, I can promise you that one. Trust me, you would be the first one I would call if I need to go home,"

Kirby nodded.

Looking up at the evening sky, Olivia suddenly heard someone calling her name, causing both Olivia and Kirby to look toward the voice, only to learn that it was someone Olivia tutored walking toward them.

Kirby frowned. Who's the blonde? And how the hell does he know Olivia?

"Hey, Kayden. What brings you over, my friend?" Olivia said.

Kayden chuckled, watching as Olivia got up from the hood of Kirby's car. "Hey, Olivia. Can I talk to you in private for a second? I promise it will only take a second. I mean, if it's okay with your girlfriend,"

"Of course, Kayden. Hey, Kirb, I will be right back. We can grab coffee after, like always,"

Kirby nodded.

After giving Kirby a quick warm smile, Olivia finally followed Kayden away from the car before she crossed her arms over her chest, while Kirby kept her eyes on them the entire time.

Over with Kayden and Olivia, the drained brunette found herself leaning against a tree while Kayden stood in front of her nervously.

"Is everything okay, Kayden?" Olivia asked.

Kayden nodded. "Everything is fine, Olivia. Listen, I need to ask you a huge favor for tonight,"

"Right! Tonight, damnit I knew I forgot about something,"

Kayden frowned.

"Is everything okay, Olivia? You never forget about our tutoring sessions," Kayden said.

Slowly nodding her head at Kayden's question, Olivia gave the blonde a warm and friendly smile before she quickly forced back a yawn. "Yeah, everything is fine, Kayden. I promise. Um! What is it that you needed to ask me?"

"Can you tutor my friend Ryan tonight as well? He's been struggling in the same classes as me, but his coach is forcing him to stop playing football until he gets his grades up,"

Olivia nodded.

Back over toward Kirby, the horror fan contuined to watch as Olivia talked to the Kayden guy, as a small jelous look began to form on her while someone snuck up toward her car.

"You do know that Olivia tutors him and he's gay. Right?" Jessica said. Leaning against her ex-girlfriend's car, Jessica happily smirked over at the horror fan. "Now! Why in the hell haven't you asked that girl out on a date yet? I mean, you're both into each other,"

Kirby chuckled as she finally looked away from Olivia and Kayden. "I never knew Olivia tutored people, Jess. Wait! How the hell did you know he's gay?"

"Maybe becuase I'm a lesbian, Kirb. I know the signs, and you never asked her why she's always arriving home late,"

Kirby shook her head as she slowly crossed her arms over her chest, while Jessica placed her left hand happily onto her hip as she contuined to smirk at Kirby.

Jessica chuckled.

Watching as Olivia and Kayden hugged goodbye, Kirby forced herself to once again look away while Jessica shook her head at her in disbelief.

"Yeah! I'm starting to see why it took Olivia for both of us together," Jessica whispered.

Kirby frowned as she gave Jessica a small, playful hurt look. "You do know that Olivia can ask me out as well. Right, Jess? I don't have to be the askee,"

"Kirb! Olivia was the askee twice with both Valerie and Alex. You haven't been it once, and I should know Olivia had to ask me out for you while you hid behind my locker,"

Kirby groaned. Ughh! Yeah! She has me there. Maybe I will ask Olivia out on a date soon.

After waving goodbye to Kayden for now, Olivia walked back over toward Kirby's car before she gentle laid back down on the hood, causing Jessica to look over at Kirby with a confused look, causing Kirby to give her ex-girlfriend a small "She's okay. I promise" look.

But deep down, Kirby has a feeling that Olivia isn't actually okay.

(Afterschool Hours. The Morris Household)

Parking her car in the driveway of her house, Olivia slowly removed the key from the ignition before she slowly leaned her head back against the headrest of her seat.

Olivia sighed.

"Man, I love being a tutor, but I think I'm going to stick to just one for now for every session," Olivia mumbled.

After getting out of her car slowly and carefully, Olivia found herself grabbing her schoolbag from her backseat before she locked all of the doors to her car with a small frown on her face.

Placing the strap of her schoolbag onto her shoulder, Olivia finally forced herself to walk toward her house as she took her keys from her left pants pocket.

"Time to act like I don't know that they're fighting," Olivia whispered.

Letting out a small broken-up sign, Olivia finally unlocked her front door before she walked into the house, only for the sounds of her parents arguing to fill her ears, causing Olivia to quickly wipe away her tears.

After finally letting the front door fall from her grip, Olivia found herself taking in a few deep breaths as she ran a hand through her hair sadly.

Here goes nothing.

"Mom! Dad!" Olivia called out. Dropping her schoolbag beside the front door, Olivia made her way toward the living room as she prepared herself for the worst. "Mom! Dad! I'm home from the library. I forgot to grab someth-,"

"Unbelievable! You're unbelievable, Henry," Julie snapped. "I can't believe you would do something like that to me. To our fucking family,"

"I didn't do anything to our family, Julie. You just don't want to fucking see that,"

Julie glared.

Ughh! They're the reason I look like a fucking walking sombie. Shaking her head sadly to herself, Olivia finally cleared her throat, causing her parents to look over at her angerily.

Looking over at her daugther, Julie found herself walking over toward Olivia's side before she gently grabbed a hold of her daugthers hands while Henry crossed his arms over his chest.

"Welcome home, Babygirl. How was tutoring?" Jullie said.

Olivia frowned. "Good! Um! Is everything okay between you and Dad, Mom?"

"Uhhh! Y-Yeah, everything is fine between me and your dad, Babygirl. I promise," Julie said. "Listen! Why don't you go inside the kitchen to fix yourself something to eat?"

"Of course you would lie to her, Julie. Gosh! I can't with you sometimes,"

Olivia frowned.

Placing a kiss onto Olivia's forehead quickly, Julie angerily walked back over toward Henry's side before she pointed protectively at her husband.

"Henry! I swear, don't fucking start with me right now. This has nothing to do with our daugther," Julie snapped.

Henry forced out a laugh as he slowly began to nod his head at his wife. "Right! I forgot how soft you are with Olivia. *Chuckles* Now I know why she is the way she is,"

"Like what? Olivia is a straight-A student. We never once had to yell at her for doing anything wrong. She will do anything for anyone she cares about. And how is treating our kid with respect being soft with her?"

Henry laughed.

Pushing past Julie angerily, Henry finally pushed Olivia up against the wall, causing the gurtist to hit her head hard against the wall, but it looked like she didn't seem to notice at the moment since her father was talking.

"You're mother, and I are getting a divorce, Olivia. We decided twenty minutes ago," Henry said.

Olivia frowned while Julie angerily pushed Henry away from her with a protective look on her face. "W-What! Why? I thought you two were happy together, minus the fighting that is,"

"We were happy, Olivia," Henry said. "But then we decided to have you, and our marriage suddenly became very rocky. We would always fight becuase of you,"

"Oh! I'm sorry,"

Julie frowned.

"Henry! I swear, if you're about to say what I think you're about to say, then I think you should leave," Julie snapped. Watching as Olivia slowly backed herself against the wall, Julie frowned as she remembered how she would only do that when she gets scared. "And if you don't leave, then I will happily call the Sheriff on you,"

Henry once again let out a small forced laugh as he rubbed his temple angerily. "This is still my damn house, Julie. So! I don't have to leave if I don't want to leave,"

"Then stop trying to blame our daugther for something that's your fault," Julie snapped. "You're the reason we're getting a fucking divorce, asshole. Now shut the hell up becuase you're scaring Olivia,"

"Come on, Julie. Stop lying to her for once in her life. (Julie: Henry! I swear if you decide to finish that sentence). You what, Julie? I'm sick and tired of pretending that we both support her,"

Julie glared.

As her parents contuined to argue about what Henry just said, Olivia found herself slowly dissociating as tears began to fall down her face like a bullet train.

Snapping out of her dissociation after accidently getting pushed against the wall by her mom, Olivia found herself slowly wiping away the tears that were falling down her face.

"I stand by what I said, Julie. Olivia is the reason we're getting a divorce," Henry said. Looking over at Olivia, Henry watched as Julie stood in front of their daugther. "She's a disappointment, Julie. She does whatever anyone wants her to do. Damnit, Julie, she can barely keep a relationship,"

Julie glared. "Shut up, Henry. You're annoying as hell right now. Olivia isn't a disappointment,"

"Yeah, keep telling yourself that, Julie. But it doesn't change the fact that it's true,"

After finally letting everything her father just said process in her mind, Olivia slowly found herself nodding her head to herself before she tearfully ran out of the house while Julie ran after her.

Forcing herself to stop running after realizing she wasn't going to be able to catch up with Olivia, Julie quickly placed her hands on the back of her neck as she tearfully began to look around in distress, just as a thought filled her mind, causing the latter to quickly take out her phone.

Since Julie wasn't able to catch up with Olivia herself, she knows just the five people that would do anything to find her daugther.
