False Shikai - Zangetsu
An oversized, black Khyber-profile Zanbatō with no guard but a silver ferrule, a black butt-cap, and a black-wrapped handle with white diamond-shaped rayskin.
True Shikai - Zangetsu
All black dual blades: 1) an oversized Khyber knife that has a thin, hollowed-out portion running from the base to the middle of the blade, a long handle with a thinner portion close to the back edge of the blade that is black cord-wrapped with blood-red rayskin and whose second half also has a hollowed-out portion (right); and 2) a smaller trench knife with a black-wrapped enclosed handle with a portion acting like a hand guard (left).
False Bankai - Tensa Zangetsu
A slim, black nodachi with a curved, jagged manji-shaped tsuba, black tsuka-ito with blood-red samegawa, and a long black chain hanging from the kashira.
It does not actually have a sheath, and the guard is pure black, larger and a bit more angular.
True Bankai - Unmei no Tensa Zangetsu
An oversized Khyber knife variation: the inner core and handle of the sword are comprised of a black blade, while the base and outer edge are encased in a slanted white shell. The guard juts out from the underside with a golden chain attached to it that loops over to the top of the blade, and the handle is black-wrapped with blood-red, diamond-shaped ray-skin underneath, ending in a black pommel.
Sealed Form
An average-sized, black katana with a manji-shaped tsuba, black tsuka ito with golden hishigata, and a short black chain hanging from the kashira. It has a white sheath (which is not shown on the image).
