Work Text:

It was supposed to be his day. Again. Thomas was distracted by something else. Again. But it wouldn’t be logical to give up to hopelessness. It wouldn’t be logical to feel personally slighted. It wouldn’t be logical to hold a grudge. It wouldn’t be logical to feel himself falling apart, being torn into smaller and smaller shreds until nothing resembling himself was left. And Logic had to be logical.

It wasn’t even that big a deal, right? And they’d all had their plans disturbed at one point or another. He’d gotten his time in the spotlight when they’d gone to college. Now it was Roman and Patton’s turn. Virgil didn’t have a problem with it. And logically it was probably good for Janus and Remus to no longer be repressed, they’d all proven that didn’t help. He himself had always argued against repression.

So what if he was pushed to the side in favor of other ventures? He’d always be needed. Maybe not as much as he’d like, but investing personal feelings into the situation wouldn’t be logical. So what if no one listened to him? If they were running smoothly without his input then he wasn’t needed. Vying for a spot at the table when it was unnecessary wouldn’t be logical.

So he sat on the sidelines and listened to an argument go in circles. Again. He waited to be called upon so as not to upset anyone and derail the conversation further. Again. They never asked for his insight. Again.

It wasn’t a big deal. They didn’t need him. It wouldn’t be logical to make a fuss. With anything related to emotions he was always considered to be wrong, and they always loved to point out when he was wrong. It wasn’t a conversation he could add to. It wouldn’t be logical to insert himself into a conversation about a topic he knew nothing about.

Yet he couldn’t even look at himself in the mirror as a symbolic representation of his self reflection because his glasses were broken and the tears wouldn’t stop despite his best efforts. He felt smaller than he could reasonably be despite not changing in size. He was sad and angry and out of control. It wasn’t logical, but Logan was never only Logic, after all.

No one noticed. Again.
