Chapter Text
It was any other day for lilia. He woke up, got ready for the morning despite his body clock telling him to still sleep, went out of his tent and made his rounds making sure his soldiers were up and counting the survivors. He walked the perimeter of the camp and made a note to tread a bit further out to investigate potential sightings of the rebellion.
He ate breakfast, a collection of frogs and other raw materials he had gathered before setting into his designated post on the trees just outside the camp, surveying the best path forward towards the human citadel. He stayed there for the majority of his watcher shift.
It wasn't until the sun was high in the sky that something went wrong.
At first there was just the rustling of the undergrowth, he stayed on guard but let the noise slip past, then it was the silence of the forest. The birds long grown quiet as disaster approached. Then it was the sudden rush of bats, lilias own familiars bursting from his magic and slapping into him. He grunted trying to keep his balance on the tree branch but it was useless, he felt a sudden weakness and then everything went black.
He suddenly gasped awake inhaling smoke and feeling the lick of flames. He cursed and looked around, he was in complete darkness and felt suffocated. There wasn't much room to move and the lid of what he assumed was his cage was hot to the touch. He grunted and lifted a leg as much as the space would allow. He kicked and kicked it before it finally flew away from the force hitting the wall of the other side with a resounding bang. He groaned and jumped out of the cage and surveyed the area.
It was a large room with a small platform that lead towards a mirror, and behind the mirror was a collection of coffins. He quickly looked at the cage he escaped only to see another coffin, he clenched his fists and reached to his back where he holds his weapon. No luck, it was gone. This soured his mood more but he was good at adapting, had done it for centuries.
He continued looking around the room. It was in chaos, blue flames licked the entire room with only a handful of spaces untouched, filled by people in robes. The purple, black and gold of the robes flickered with the flames. Faces revealed from the light. Humans. And a lot of them. He scowled and slunked into the darkness. He hadn't been noticed in the chaos. The humans running about screaming making his ears twitch. He grunted and watched the area. He flickered through the crowd, robes fell from heads revealing more features. Some fae, some beast men and even merfolk. But the majority was human. All chasing a small grey and blue dire beast who was constantly releasing flames. He felt the need to intervene but stayed put, this wasn't his business.
He continued to watch the group wander about before settling on a yelling silver haired boy. He tensed and growled, that was the dawn knight. Why was he here, he was supposed to be dead. Why was he younger. These questions and more circled Lilia's head. Answers not arriving from his consciousness. The look alike was yelling in the direction of another looking worried before a Baur lookalike shouted at the silver haired one. The bickering escalated and Lilia took the chance to look in the direction. He could barely see anything behind the flames but he grew silent as his own lookalike walked through the flames and extinguished them.
He froze as confusion rattled his entire being. What was going on, why was there another him, one looking older with shorter hair and more relaxed posture. He clenched his fists even tighter and snuck out of the darkness. He stayed to the shadows but grew closer to the other him. He patted his wrist looking for his concealed knife. Finding it still there before slipping it out and creeping up on his other self. He almost scoffed at the lack of awareness before he lunged forward wrapping an arm around his other selves neck and pointing the knife to his cheek.
The chaos abruptly stopped, the dire beast chained and the fire flattened. Silence was all that was heard. Lilia didn't bother looking around, he spoke through his mask with a hiss.
"Who are you?" He demanded and the sound of magic being channeled alerted him. He scoffed and sent a wave of his own magic out snuffing out the growing magic. The shocked yells of the others as their magic was effectively consumed.
"My isn't this an interesting situation" his other self said as a smile grew on his face. He hissed again tightening his grip. The older him raised his hands in mock surrender. Lilia scoffed and muttered curses in fae before facing the others in the room.
"Why was i brought here?, i demand an explanation!" His grip remained firm, he kept a close eye on the humans, watching their every move.
A guffaw of disbelief sounded causing him to snap his head towards it. There was a man he knew rather well, it was inked on every letter he was sent.
"You!" He growled, "what did you do!" He directed to the man in question.
"Eep!, now now let's not fight. It's a miracle you haven't destroyed the entire mirror hall. I'm so gracious aren't i, i'll allow myself to answer your question.! First! You weren't meant to be here! This was never foreseen to happen, ooh my poor schools reputation. Second! It seems you aren't in the correct timeline." Dire crowley, the bane of Lilias existence a persistent menace who sent letters every other day to his camps somehow always finding him as he moved on. Lilia felt his eyes narrow.
"What do you mean?" He said harshly and crowley just chuckled nervously.
"Well it seems that dire beast triggered some sort of spell! I can't figure out which one but it must've been a spell to summon someone. Maybe it was included in the original ceremony." He muttered the last bit but Lilia wasn't convinced. His grip moved from the other hims neck and pushed him away, he watched the other try to regain his balance in a rather comedic way, waving his arms in a circle as he tipped forward on one leg.
"Dire crowley was my rejections not clear enough, i want nothing to do with you!" He snarled and crowley just looked away and cleared his throat.
"Well you shouldn't have ignored me, hmph, it's not like its my fault you are here, i didn't anticipate you came from so long ago, but alas you are here now and i have no idea how to send you back!" He said at first pouting before quickly becoming cheerful. Lilia just growled and crossed his arms. His uniform crinkling as leather met leather. He stared at the man who rubbed his neck and clapped his hands.
"Well this has been such an exciting day. Anyways Yuu please head up to the mirror, it will send you back! I can't have a magicless student running around, oh dear me what would it do to my reputation" lilia watched as a boy approached the mirror, he was in foreign attire and was fairly tall. Lilia hummed as the mirror went through the motions of summoning before it abruptly stopped, refusing to send the boy home, saying it didn't exist.
Lilia tuned out the rest of the situation and returned to surveying the area, the humans had looked at him in fear, now looked as if nothing had happened. The lookalikes were gathered and shooting him glares while his older self looked amused. The beast men and merfolk looked intrigued as they stared at him, probably smelling the similarity between hin and his older self.
He can only come to the conclusion that he was displaced in time, either in an alternate timeline or just the future. He settled for the latter as the smells reached him. The lookalikes weren't 1to1 copies. In fact the original scent was dulled. The baur lookalike smelled to be a few generations later, the distinct green of the croc faes genes but no scales or pointed ears proved that theory. A grandchild perhaps. The dawn knight lookalike smelled ancient and as a direct descendant therefore it was safe for lilia to assume the boy was the son. But he seemed too young, his older self caught him and smiled before nodding. Lilia cursed and tightened his arms. If that was the Dawn Knights son then there was chance for risk. He was agreeable to the man when he saved him and the egg but he still killed thousands of lilias people and hundreds of his men.
He glanced to his older self and could sense the weakening magic. He must be coming to the end of his life then. He returned his gaze to the son and gritted his teeth. How did a human survive for so long with their fragile bodies and short lifespan. A curse perhaps. He could sense some negative magic surrounding the boy but also he felt his own blessing on the boy. He was confused on why the boy smells heavily of him too. He tore his gaze away as even more questions gathered into his mind. Returning to looking around. If he isn't mistaken then he must be at Night raven college. The existence of Dire crowley just solidifies it. He huffed and tapped his finger on his arm as more chaos unfolded, there was yelling and arguments. Lilia just wanted to find a dark place to nap.
He snapped to attention when crowley clapped, "well now that that's decided perhaps we should all head to our dorms while i take this one to the library. Ah and you sir will join me. " crowley directed at lilia who just huffed and followed the crowd out the door. He remained waiting, ignoring the odd looks and hesitant footsteps as they passed him. Crowley exited shortly after with the 'Yuu' in tow. The dire besst in the boys arms.
"Well right this way" they walked towards the library and soon opened the door. Crowley approached a specific corner and shelf before pulling out a large book. He slammed it on the table nearby and cracked it open. Lilia ignored the following conversation not at all interested in where the human came from. He only snapped out of it when he was addressed.
"As for you, i suppose i can hand you over to diasomnia, im sure your other self would be thrilled." Lilia rolled his eyes and grunted. That was as much agreement as the damn bird was getting. The human boy looked confused and prodded for answers.
"Other self?" The boy said and crowley chuckled.
" ah yes, this is lilia vanrouge, only he's from about 300 years ago, his other self the short fellow with short black hair with pink highlights is the him from the present time line. It appears time was displaced which brought this one here " crowley explained.
"Will you quit treating me like an object!" Lilia snapped and crowley continued to chuckle, trying to butter him up with compliments. It wasn't working.
"Wait so that guy is old old?" The human boy stated and crowley just nodded. The boy looked at him in awe and he just huffed and turned his head away.
"Names Lilia Vanrouge, i do not want yours" lilia stated and the boy just shied away from the harsh tone. The human nodded and took to looking down at his lap and playing with his fingers. Lilia was grateful for his mask as he felt his face scrunch into a grimace. He hated children. So why did the sad kicked puppy look on the boys face affect him. He just brushed it off and faced crowley.
"So you want me to be around my other self. One quite frankly very different. Im a war general not some soft lipped student." Lilia mused and crowley shrugged.
"There's no knowledge about your situation, as much as we know you not being around your future self could leave you to cease to exist or grow weaker. Id rather not have an angry bat fae terrorising my students because he was under the weather. Let alone a war general. Just deal with it until i find out more" crowley answered and lilia scowled.
"As if you'll do shit" lilia stated before huffing. Crowley just smirked and clapped his hands.
"Well i shall take you guys to your residences then! Follow me" crowley started walking out the library leaving the boy and lilia alone. They followed only because they had no choice. But the atmosphere was tense. For the rest of the walk to the mirror chamber conversation was silent.
"First we shall drop of sir lilia as it would be to much work to track all the way from one end of the school to the other, oh how kind i am" crowley stated and lilia rolled his eyes.
They entered the mirror chamber that was now completely different, instead of the coffins, burnt room and one mirror it now opened up to multiple mirrors surrounding the first. They each had different decoration and names. They approached one covered in thorns with the name 'Diasomnia' it had gargoyles and grotesques next to the name. The mirror churned as a whirlpool appeared showing a large castle like building that was both gothic and elegant. The three of them stepped through and walked down the short pathway over the moat.
"This is diasomnia, where you will be staying. I believe your other self is waiting for us." Crowley stated and lilia just shrugged. They walked into the grand foyer where new students milled about and older students catching up with each other and school work. His older self was sitting on one of the sofas in front of a fireplace surrounded by a small group, the baur grandson and the dawn knightz son. Lilia looked to the tall imposing boy and felt his heart drop. That was malleus. The boy he was protecting who hasn't even left his egg in the past 80 years. He looked healthy and he felt himself relax, it seems he had done a good job or someone had taken the egg from him either was possible. The boy was tall imposing with black hair that reached his mid back styled neatly to cover his scales. His horns stood proud dusted with emerald green. His eyes were sharp, his mind mature but he still had the softness of a child.
"Well i shall see you later i must get this one to his own residence" crowley and the human boy left quickly the latter ushered by the crow.
Lilia felt eyes fall on him and he grunted, approaching his older self. He stood in silence behind his older self and grew increasingly frustrated with his carefree nature. He was chatting animatedly to the three boys ignoring his presence completely. A forceful kick to the sofa the other was on made his older self stop. He turned around and greeted him.
"Why if it isn't you. What fun." The tone was dry, lilia felt his hackles rise as a snarl escaped his lips.
"I forgot how much of an animal i was" the older fae muttered before sighing. He jumped up and put his hands on his hips. He was just slightly taller than lilia but that would be because of the heels on his feet. Lilia rolled his eyes and stood firm.
"Fix this" he grunted and the other just waved his hand with a smile.
"I can't" lilia just groaned and moved away.
"At least give me a room" lilia stated and the other grinned.
"That i can do, follow me, you three better head to your rooms too, you still need to unpack" the older fae said and lilia just followed him as he was lead up the stairs and into a hallway. The high arches and stained glass windows the only decoration. The occasional suit of armor lined the wall before it broke off to the dorms.
Hundreds of doors lined multiple floors, some for the bathrooms others for leisure and food such as the kitchen. Lilia was lead up to the third floor and down a dimly lit hallway, the only light being the candles and the occasional window.
The older one stopped in front of a door about the middle of the hallway. He opened it and entered, lilia followed and gazed into the room. There was a large window covered by black curtains overlooking the garden, a dimly lit mess of thorns and plants. In the middle was a large gazebo made of stone covered by gargoyles, grotesques and statues of other fae. Underneath the window was a large padded seat, it had a throw blanket folded neatly and a few pillows bare of any covers. It looked like a reading bench. Besides the window was an empty ceiling to floor shelf that lined the right wall opposite the door. A four poster bed tucked between the shelf and the desk. The desk was next to the bed a brown oak colour varnished and untouched. It was a more traditional writing desk with a few cubbies to store writing materials and a drawer at the bottom for paper and books. Just after the desk was a drawer set for clothes. It looked old but well looked after. Then there was the door which lilia walked through. The room was large but it was imposing either way, the dark browns and muted greens gave it a heavy air yet a more nature inspired touch.
"This is one of the spare rooms, i'm just a few doors away, don't cause trouble" lilia received a glare directed to him but he just rolled his eyes and shrugged. The older fae left shortly after that warning allowing lilia to take a breather. He took off his mask but left the hood up. He gazed out the window before taking a seat and just watching as it started to rain and night fell. He had lost an entire day it seems.
Lilia looked around once more and spotted a second door, it was tucked behind the entrance and was a simpler lighter interior door, he could assume it was either a walk in wardrobe or a bathroom, he hoped for the latter. He returned to his gazing and lost track of time. Before he knew it the rain was pelting heavily and the moon was high in the sky, the screech of bats made him finally approach the bed, it had a cover set on thankfully but he wasn't complaining, he's been sleeping on the floor for decades at this point.
He unlatched his armor and untied his hair before he fell asleep, in just his underclothes. He had nothing else to wear but once again clean clothes are a luxury in war. He let himself relax. He could deal with the confusing situation tomorrow.
When lilia woke up it was to the sound of multiple alarms going off across the corridor, most likely students getting ready for school. He groaned and buried his head in the pillows. His hair was a mess and his clothes wrinkled. He laid there head in the pillows for close to 30 minutes until his door was opened. He tensed and hissed lunging towards the intruder before realising it was the baur grandson.
"Wake up! Lilia sama demands your presence in the lounge!" The boy yelled making lilia hiss for another reason. The boy walked in not noticing he had almost been attacked and then stopped short. He sputtered before bowing and running out muttering about doppelgangers and to tell 'lilia sama'.
Lilia just groaned rubbing his ears. He walked to that spare door hoping it was in fact a bathroom before sighing in relief. It was a more modern approach but not something he was unfamiliar with. The plumbing was slowly being integrated into briar valley despite the war still ongoing. He hoped the war did not last much longer.
He quickly washed up, showering and staying in for a fair bit before using a spell to clean his teeth as he had no products, and a spell to clean his clothes. He quickly got dressed in his uniform and pulled up his hair into his standard ponytail. He put up the hood and reached for the mask but decided to leave it off. He hooked it to his belt before exiting the room, he quickly made his way to the lounge, thanking the seven for his memory and coming face to face with a group of students.
His older self was sat in the same area as he was yesterday so lilia approached. The baur grandson was flustered as lilias older self explained the situation. Lilia stopped briefly before continuing, finding his place once again to be behind his older self.
This time his older self acknowledged him. He turned and clapped his hands. The three boys grew quiet. Lilia tilted his head and raised an eyebrow.
He clicked his tongue and glared at his older self. "I'm not a dog, what do you want?" He said and his older self snickered.
"Well, crowley came by earlier to drop off some clothes, its mainly the uniforms we wear. I just needed to hand them to you." The older fae said and lilia rolled his eyes, the pink highlights hurting them as the sunlight reached through the window.
"And you couldn't just have that one bring them when retrieving me?" He said and the other just shrugged. The Baur grandson shooting up to complain before being ushered to sit back down by the dawn knight's son.
"Well what fun is that?" Lilia narrowed his eyes.
"Fun?, now i have to go all the way back to get changed, how is that fun?" He said and the other just looked innocent. Lilia cursed and snatched the uniforms out of the others arms and teleported back to the room. He quickly got changed into the school uniform. He didn't want to attempt to wear the one matching everyone in the lounge.
Thankfully the uniform wasn't flamboyant probably just a spare that was lying around, it had a pair of black straight leg pants with a gold line down the sides, a white collared shirt and a green vest. The blazer was a black one with the schools symbol and a gemstone accessory. It had gold accents running down the collar and on the cufflinks. He forwent the blazer just wearing the vest, shirt and pants. The fabric was too restrictive for him. A pair of shoes accompanied the uniform, a black pair of smart shoes. He debated putting his boots on but the colour and pattern stood out too much against the uniform so he slipped on the shoes, they fit perfectly. He redid his hair neater before walking back, he had the urge to make the other him wait. If the other even remotely was like him at this time he'd be annoyed with that. So he smirked and slowed his pace. He gazed out of the windows every time he passed them spotting different aspects. Compared to the window in his room these windows gazed over the entrance to the dorm that was neatly decorated by various plants and statues. The pathway was gravel and neatly lined with old stones of all shapes. In the middle of the pathway was a large fountain. How he didn't notice that yesterday was beyond him. He reached the lounge not long later and walked towards his other self. He was still in the same place, smiling at the three boys. The crowd had thinned out as the time for classes came about. If he wasn't mistaken it was close to 9am based on the position of the sun.
He once again came to a stop but this time to the right of the sofa occupied by the older one. He tuned into the conversation.
"Silver, sebek you need to head to class now" his older self stated as a ring jolted the light chatter, many students jumped up and walked out the large doors.
"But-" the dawn knight's son tried to argue.
"I can handle this just go" the stern voice of his older self cut the boy off. The silver haired boy sighed and nodded. He got up and left with the Baur grandson.
Soon the lounge consisted of both lilias and Malleus. The boy was drinking tea as he played on a small device.
A sigh was heard and lilia faced his older self. "What am i to do?, well anyways, i see you've changed. Crowley gave me the order to have you join the third years, since you already know everything the school teaches. However, you will be attending with me. Classes aren't until the afternoon for the third years so we will head to the cafeteria shortly to get food for breakfast. Malleus will be joining us. For now we just loiter around." Older him said and lilia just nodded, he got himself comfortable on the sofa opposite the two and closed his eyes working through his thoughts, questions and confusion.
From what he can tell and what has been proven, for some reason during his watch his familiars grew out of control, spooked by something causing them to consume him, he wasn't dead that much he can tell but he definitely blacked out and fell from the branch. He woke up in a coffin in the mirror hall during absolute chaos and got barely any answers from crowley and his older self. He's definitely been displaced from the timeline but what would the consequences be, is his time frozen until he goes back or is he no longer apart of that past. Has the time changed already and why is his future self so laid back and calm. More free.
He takes a deep breath and sighs, time had passed as he was dwelling on that so it was close to 10:30 now so he got up and followed his older self to the cafeteria where he was lead to the food hall. The food hall was merely just a section where food was collected buffet style, there was many different options but he just grabbed the basics. A tray was thrusted into his hands almost making him drop the plate, he glared at his older self who was acting innocent but quickly placed the plate on the tray and gathered a few more things.
They walked to the tables up a set of stairs and took a seat at a round one. He looked down to his food and grabbed his fork and knife. On his tray was a full queendom breakfast consisting of three strips of bacon, 2 sausages, 2 fried eggs and a small portion of scrambled egg, 2 toast slices and a portion of beans. He had had this when he first visited the Queendom of roses and enjoyed the combination. Next to that was a large hot drink, it wasn't exactly coffee or tea but he found it was sweet and chocolatey. And finally there was a small portion of fresh fruit in a bowl. He dug in and cleared his tray fairly quickly and as soon as his fork and knife touched the tray everything but the drink was whisked away by a wandering ghost. He nursed his drink as he stared at the table ignoring the sounds of the others still eating.
The soft 'clink' and hum of someone finishing made him snap to attention. His older self had finished and Malleus followed shortly after both nursing different drinks. His older self had an abomination of a drink based on the smells and Malleus had a simple earl grey tea.
Lilia placed his drink down and gave a look to his older self who was happily drinking the abomination. The silence flowed but it was tense like it was this morning or yesterday.
"That was great" the older fae stated and Lilia just shrugged.
"Food is food" he said but he wouldn't admit it was the best thing he had eaten in months, having lived off dried rations for the better half of a year. They hadn't had time to restock between the rebellion and the humans. Ever since meleanors death many fae demanded to know the location of their heir and were getting rather violent. The humans despite henricks generation having died off was still invading briar valley for its resources led by henricks descendents. It was a never ending cycle that weighed heavy on lilias shoulders.
His older self didn't comment on that and quickly changed the subject. It seems the other knew what he meant. It wasn't long of chatting before the hall filled up, it seems it was lunch time. He had sat in silence as the older version of him chatted to Malleus about a new game. And the other in turn chatting about the gargoyles he had found around campus.
Lilia didn't feel too hungry but he knew he had to eat if he wanted to be ready for anything. So he followed the others back to the food hall and collected a new tray and some new food. This time he went simple. He grabbed a bowl of hot tomato soup and a few portions of bread with butter. He grabbed another drink this time something cold. It was like a milkshake but it had ice cream in it. He had not had such a sweet treat since he was a child. They returned to their original seats now joined by the other two boys.
Introductions where made but lilia had pretty much guessed who was who. He dug into his food breaking off pieces of bread and dipping them into the soup and eating them. He remained as clean as he could just dealing with a handful of crumbs around his fingers and mouth. Soon enough the bread was gone and he grabbed the spoon to bring the soup to his lips. At first it was too hot but as he brought more up his mouth got used to it. He finished it off shortly and grabbed his drink. The ice cream had melted slightly but he was fine with that and brought the straw to his mouth. He took a few hesitant sips before taking bigger ones. There was a mix of strawberry and banana alongside the vanilla of the ice cream. It tasted good.
He nursed his drink once again but taking small breaks to nibble on the ice cream and avoid a brain freeze. He looked up at the table and watched everyone eat. It wasn't silent at all, sebek, baurs grandson was loud and insulting silver over his choice of food, calling it fattening and unhealthy despite the boy having a large collection of meat and no veg. Silver just ignored him and continued to eat but caught the eyes of lilia. The general just nodded to him in approval of his choice before turning his eyes to the rest of the hallway. The older fae left shortly and appeared at a table next to the boy and the cat from the ceremony and library. There was two boys a redhead and a blue haired boy both with a symbol painted on their faces. He couldn't make it out but guess it was something similar to what the older students at the table had. He saw his older self tease the students before they all turned to face lilias table. He could feel the glare on silver and sebek but it felt playful on silver's side.
Lilia just rolled his eyes and cocked his head at the boys. Who were shocked at the resemblance between him and his older self. They look at lilia and back to the face at their table before the older fae explained, lilia heard then all talk about the ceremony and why lilia looked identical if not a big younger.
When they were satiated the older fae returned and continued eating, gushing about young freshies. Lilia just continued to drink his drink. He ignored his older selves rambles to save himself from the never ending questions rising up in his head. He hated kids so why was he gushing over them. He scrunched his nose but malleus took that second to address him.
"Do you not like the drink?" He said and lilia looked at him, he raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" Lilia asked and Malleus smiled.
"You were far away and your nose was scrunched i assumed you just didn't like the drink" malleus explained and lilia just nodded.
"No, i do like it, i was just thinking" he replied and Malleus nodded a small smile on his face, satisfied with the conversation. Silver and sebek returned to arguing but now over the best flavour of tea.
"Do you know me?" Malleus asked and lilia stopped for a second. He didn't know if he wanted to be honest but staring at the face made by raverne and meleanor he couldn't help it.
"Of course i do" he stated and Malleus, eyes shined. "I've been protecting you for close to 80 years" he admitted and Malleus looked confused.
"80 years? But when i hatched you werent there, I was raised by the nursemaids" Malleus said confused, lilia felt himself freeze. What did that mean.
He looked to his older self who had a pained expression on his face. He gulped and clenched his fist on the glass in his hands. Lilia could feel the anger rolling off him in waves. Something must have gone wrong.
"He means when you were still in your egg" the older fae explained and Malleus looked delighted.
"You took care of me?" He directed it to the older version who nodded.
"For 200 years"
Lilia felt his heart sink at that. If what his older self said then Malleus doesn't hatch for another 120 years and there's no guarantee that he kept the egg the entire time. It was vague. No information was given on the circumstances of why it took so long. Lilia just felt himself want to crawl away and hide.
'See meleanor i couldn't love the egg enough' was his only thought. The heir may have hatched but its becoming increasingly obvious he wasn't in the others life that much. Lilia sat with that reveal for a moment. He couldn't change the past or future. It just goes at its own pace. All he can do is accept the outcome. At least he knew the boy after he hatched, whether that was a century later or not. He was just happy that meleanor and raverne can live on. His love for the two was still very strong but he knew it was over.
Soon the bell rang and the cafeteria emptied. Lilia was dragged by his older self in his daze to a classroom. It seems it was a history lesson. Lilia took a seat at the back as his older self sat at the front. The lesson was on the war between the fae and humans though it didn't go into depth. He didn't bother writing anything down as all this information was not new to him, it was mainly human history he knew nothing of. And after the war it appears. The lesson dragged on before lilia caught eyes with his older self, he huffed and looked away gazing out of the window and watching students walk about.
The bell rang shortly and he followed his older self out and headed to their next lesson. Flight class. Lilia groaned and walked outside. They were led to the changing rooms where he slipped on his gym uniform using magic to summon it. They left the changing room to head out to the field. On the ground was a collection of brooms and equipment. The teacher, Vargas, he came to learn gets them warmed up with a few rounds of stretching. He then separates the class into two sections, those to learn to fly and those already good at it. Those that are good at it are told to run laps to increase their stamina. Lilia knew how to fly but not really on a broom. So he was in the learning group with a handful of others, mainly mermen who were still pretty weak at flying.
They practiced for the full hour doing different excersises before the class came to an end. Lilia waited for his older self to finish before they walked into the school once more for their final meal of the day. Once again he is lead to the food hall and he grabs a few plates and a drink. He then wanders back to the table they used for the previous two meals before setting his tray down and taking a seat. For this meal he chose a roast, some beef slices with mashed potstoes and a portion of veg covered in a layer of gravy. He lifted his fork and knife and dug in chewing the meat slowly. He savoured the food bite by bite ignoring the conversation held by the other four. He finished slightly after his older self who had gotten a simple sandwhich meal. Lilia took a second to grab his drink, a basic Queendom tea, before diggung into his desert, a soft three tier carrot cake. A nice balance of sweet and savoury.
It wasn't long before the others finished and they were getting up ready to head to the mirror chamber to head back to the dorm. Lilia split off from the group to head to his room before entering and shutting the door behind him. He stripped out of his clothes and launched into the bed. He couldn't be bothered throwing on something to sleep so he laid in his underwear. He shuffled into the covers and fell right asleep, his body clock telling him its time to sleep. This was going to be a long 'vacation'.
