She should be here any minute now.
“Did something happen…?” the uneasy uma muttered.
Nature paced back and forth in front of her humble apartment door. Her hands anxiously running through her twintails. She hadn’t received a call or a text in the past few hours. That normally doesn’t happen too often. Usually, she’d text about making it on the train at least.
The clock continued to tick by and the redhead’s pace was not getting any slower.
Should she send a call to the airport?
No wait, it would be better for Nature to go there herself in person, right?
She’s been through this time and time again but she just can’t shake off this habit...

Nature stopped in her steps and whipped her head around to find the door swinging open.
First, orange ears peeked through. Then, the familiar cute face that Nature had longed and desperately wanted to see again for the past couple of days.
Amber eyes met silver and Mayano’s face instantly brightened.
“Nature-chan!” her girlfriend exclaimed.
Nature didn’t get a chance to reply before the orange uma tossed her luggage down and tackled the taller uma to the ground with the biggest smile on her face.
“I missed you!”
Nature couldn’t help but reciprocate her girlfriend's smile as she wrapped her arms around Mayano, her fingers entangled in her long orange hair. “It’s only been four days.”
“Four days too long!”
The redhead stared at Mayano’s huffy expression in a daze. In other circumstances, four days isn’t really a long time. As Mayano was only a regional pilot, she’s able to come back home for a few days in a month, which is completely generous compared to flying for major airlines. But, it would be a little greedy for Nature to say that it’s still not enough. There’s always this looming empty feeling in their apartment whenever the pilot is away. And no matter how many times they have greeted each other again in front of their apartment door, it always feels surreal to see Mayano back home again.
“Yeah… it was too long…” Nature quietly said.
For now, Mayano’s able to come back and spend a few days back home as a small break before taking off into the skies again. She hadn’t even been here for a minute yet the apartment already felt so much warmer.
Suddenly, Nature caught Mayano leaning in and the redhead quickly grabbed her shoulders to stop the uma.
“W-wait. We should close the door first. What if someone walks by?”
Mayano’s amber eyes blinked at her girlfriend below her. Her eyebrows furrowed as a pout appeared on her face.
“The door can wait!”
Before Nature could react, Mayano pounced on her and started attacking her with an onslaught of kisses all over the taller uma’s face. Nature sputtered as Mayano gripped onto her tightly, giving her no chance to escape. Any protests the redhead had were quickly drowned out by the sounds of her girlfriend’s giggling.
