A man walked through an infinite abyss, expression blank but eyes burning with curiosity.
"Weird.... I thought I'd either reincarnate or be in purgatory"
The man continued walking, each step rippling the shallow pond of pitch black beneath his feet. The abyss was cold, detached, almost brimming with self hatred. The man found peace in such an environment, because there was someone else.
The man had walked for hours till he finally encountered someone else. A 15-16 year old curled on the ground, black sea-urchin like hair. "Hey dude! Ya know what this place is? Very nice to walk around in, but I need an exit too". The boy jolted in shock, looking up at the tall man with soulless eyes."H-how...?"
"How what?". The man squats down near the boy, making him pull back slightly. "I-in here... How are you here, in my innate domain?"
"Innate domain...." The man's voice repeats the words, his brown eyes widening in recognition as he looks at the boy again, recognising the clothes. "Are you Me- Fushiguro Megumi?". Megumi's eyes widen at the unknown man saying his name. "Y-yes?"
The man bursts out laughing at this, falling back onto their behind as he looks down at the boy again. "Hahaha... Sorry about that. I'm Aiden, and we're both dead. Sukuna probably died just moments ago for you, didn't he?"
Megumi continued to stare at the man in confusion as he slowly sat up, the despair and helplessness radiating off of him. "How... What the hell is going on? What do you mean we're dead?"
"Ah, right. The last thing I remember is taking a swan dive off a skyscraper, so I know I'm dead dead. You... Your world is a manga in my world, with an anime adaptation, so I know what happened.... And since we both are here... You won't be able to fulfill Yuji's word". Aiden explained, unnerving Megumi because he was way too jovial for someone suicidal.
Aiden looked back at Megumi, his expression softening as he lightly fistbumps Megumi on the arm. "Hey, don't look at me like that. I was suicidal, not anymore. If anything, I think we might be going to a new world, so... Wanna fuse our souls together? Would be fun. You can give me the reins if ya want..... I know you're tired. And... You could go and rest with Tsumiki too."
Megumi relaxes slightly at his words, contemplating the offer for a long while while the man continued to sit beside the boy, providing him some silent company in this infinite abyss of the boy's soul.
"... You can take the reins.... I'm.... I'm done."
"... Sure buddy. Have fun."
"... Thank you, Aiden."
