Chapter Text
Cianna always thought that Laurent was going to be the one she'd marry. This had been confusing when they both still assumed that Laurent was a woman, but he eventually discovered he felt much more comfortable as a man and preferred to be called one. So in Cianna's eyes, he was a man.
But eventually, his parents found him wearing men's clothing. They didn't see their son that moment, but rather a rebellious woman. So, Cianna did what she thought was best. To stop Laurent's parents from killing him, she and Laurent killed them.
However, now they sat together, corpses in the freezing cellar, unsure what to do. Laurent cried on Cianna's shoulder, as she stared at her hands, the ones that had choked a man to death.
She wasn't even sure how she did it. After all, choking someone to death was much harder than this usually. Though she couldn't help but feel safe, for the first time, in her best friend's home.
"We need to get rid of the corpses," Cianna said, putting an arm around Laurent.
"What if- What if we get caught?" Laurent asked in a whisper, looking up at his girlfriend.
"We won't, we'll report them missing, cut them up in the woods and let the animals take care of eating them," Cianna explained.
"Have you-" Laurent started, looking at his best friend as if she were the smartest person in the world.
"I've done this before. But you know... We'd get rid of more evidence if we kept some parts and cooked them ourselves," Cianna said, smiling at her boyfriend. She wasn't sure if this would actually work, but at least they'd be together in the afterlife now.
"You want us to- to eat... My parents?" Laurent looked scared at the idea, but Cianna kept smiling at him.
"It's easiest," she said, though she'd never eaten a human before either. But now, that craving was getting stronger than ever.
"If I do this with you, will you run away with me to England, and start over?" Laurent asked, leaning his forehead against Cianna's
"Anything for you my darling. You don't even need to participate. But remember, we need to save up at least some money first," Cianna knew it was controversial for a woman to work, but she had to. Even if her future husband couldn't work.
"What if we sell the house?" Laurent asked, knowing that if they did sell it, they would struggle being homeless travellers for a bit, but once in England, he could truly live as who he was. That prospect made it worth it. And it was a good idea.
"We can only do that after your parents are declared missing. But if we go with my plan, I'm sure we'll escape. And if not, we'll marry in Hell," Cianna said, remembering how much effort Laurent put into choking his mother to death. It almost made her sentimental for the in laws she could've had. But for now, they had to handle this situation.
"Promise?" Laurent asked, holding Cianna's face in his hands.
"Forever," Cianna said, before leaning in to kiss Laurent.
They kissed for a few seconds before breaking apart. The next part of their plan went by quietly. Since it was the middle of the night, they had the perfect opportunity to drag the bodies into the woods. But they took one at a time, carrying the corpse together to avoid traces of their murder.
When they were officially far enough into the woods, they dropped the two off of a cliff, before going back inside and grabbing an axe.
To prevent blood stains, they wore all black suits that Laurent's dad had owned. Then after they were done, they washed themselves in the nearby lake, before returning home with a few pieces of the bodies. They dried themselves off and changed into nightgowns before returning to the kitchen.
"It's up to you if you'd like to indulge as well," Cianna said as she lit a fire to cook the pieces of thigh and upper arm they had.
"Perhaps I will join you," Laurent said, looking at how his future wife seasoned the body parts of his parents. He was almost jealous of her ability to use salt and paprika, but now, he didn't even need to cook for anyone. Nobody would expect a man to cook after all. And maybe that becoming a constant was worth the exhaustion this brought with them.
"That'd be perfect. I'm also glad your tears have dried. Were you truly so worried we'd get found out?" Cianna knew he wouldn't have cried because of the death of those who have caused him so much pain, so she was quite curious what had caused them earlier.
"I was worried I would lose you," Laurent said, hugging her from behind as she stirred the meat.
"I'm glad I wasn't the only one worried for that," Cianna said, putting a hand on his arms.
They swayed slightly as they finished cooking the meat all the way through.
Cianna decorated the plate as if they were in a fancy restaurant, and both sat down slowly. Cianna admired the food as if it were a piece of art by one of the masters.
"I've wanted to do this since my ex-fiancé died. I pushed him you know," Cianna said, admitting that her ex's death wasn't an accident for the first time out loud.
"I knew something wasn't right with your story. But I would've done the same to a man like that," Laurent said, watching Cianna take the first, tiny bite. "How is it?"
Cianna chewed for a moment, face turning from fear and hesitation to a smile. Then she giggled. "It tastes like pig, but as if it were laced with tea. I can't quite describe it."
Laurent took a slice but felt nauseated at the idea of eating his own parents. Though when he saw Cianna take another larger bite, he closed his eyes and bit into it. He almost spit it out, until he tasted it.
And...
It was good. But he struggled to swallow.
"I think we'll need more of this in the future. And you seasoned it so well," Laurent said, though his body tried to reject the food regardless of taste as he gagged. Cianna giggled at him.
"Only the best for my love," she said with a smile, looking at the man she planned to marry as he took another bite. "But we definitely brought too little."
"If only the animals weren't all over it now," Laurent said, as the two continued to eat, Cianna taking larger and larger bites. "But this means we're going to get married, right?"
"In every lifetime, no matter how often we get reincarnated, no matter the version of you" Cianna responded with a soft smile before leaning in to kiss him, a bit of meat still in her mouth. Laurent kissed back, but had to stop his body from revolting.
"And I will chose you as many times as I can," Laurent said, holding Cianna's hand, as they both took another bite. Laurent felt his stomach twist as he looked at the beautiful sight of his future wife, who was licking her fingers clean.
