Work Text:

He couldn’t believe this was happening to him. Billy was curled into a ball in the middle of a shitty heat motel nest. With his budget to get to Cali he could only afford two nights and then that would be half his savings gone before he’d even got anywhere.

Except Billy wasn’t in heat. No, that would be much better than this. Billy was going through rejection sickness.

The fan in the room was squeaky, and he could hear a tap dripping in the bathroom. Everything inside Billy felt on fire while being stabbed with ice at the same time. His skin hurt to touch, laying down was excruciating, especially on his threadbare nest items he’d been able to grab. The scratchy cardboard rough linen supplies the 1 star place could muster did little to help.

The room was supposed to be scent proof and sound proof. Billy wouldn’t be surprised if that wasn’t entirely true. He’d seen the rubber seals when he entered and the way they were peeling in places had him worried. But it had to do, there was nowhere else to go.

It had been almost 10 hours since he’d left home and he’d only got 75 miles away before he thought he was going into a spontaneous heat. Now he knew it wasn’t that, and the pain that never ceased to roar through his body was only getting worse.

The searing pain came with a hatred that threatened to consume him. Hatred at the man who supposedly raised him. Hatred for the fact he let his father down because he presented as an omega. And finally hatred of the fact that when he finally managed to get out alive, Neil was giving him one last beating.
