Chapter Text
✧ Author’s Note: On Magic, Bonds, and Fate ✧
In this world, magic does not simply exist—it remembers.
Among its oldest workings are soulmate bonds. Rare and deeply rooted in magic itself, they are not promises of love, nor guarantees of happiness. They are possibilities—paths that may be chosen, ignored, or lost.
A soulmate bond reveals itself through contact.
When two soulmates touch for the first time, magic may grant one of them a vision—a fleeting glimpse of what could be. Not a fixed future, but a thread of possibility.
This vision does not always come to both.
Magic is not symmetrical in how it reveals itself. Sometimes only one person receives the vision, while the other feels only echoes—familiarity, comfort, or an unexplainable pull.
This imbalance is not a flaw of the bond, but a reflection of magic itself: unpredictable, uneven, and deeply influenced by timing, intent, and circumstance.
Because of this, soulmate bonds are often misunderstood.
Some are never recognized.
Some are realized too late.
And some are… interfered with.
For magic can be guided.
Bent.
Altered.
Even silenced.
And when that happens—
What was meant to be a choice… becomes something else entirely.
