My idea is that when Stiles learns that Lydia is sleeping with Aiden and that they're a couple, he realizes that his love for her was unrequited and that she wasn't who he thought she was. He's disgusted that she's with one of the people responsible for Erica and Boyd's deaths. It's as if he's finally seen the light and understood that she took him for granted and didn't want to lose his love because it gave her power over him. I'd like to hear some criticisms of Lydia Martin.
He decides to ignore her and focus his attention elsewhere, wanting to help Malia control her transformation and become human again (so no possession for Stiles unless the author want it, and no Eichen House for either of them). At first, they're friends, but they quickly become sexually attracted to each other and end up sleeping together. Afterward, they decide to be a couple. Meanwhile, Lydia doesn't understand why Stiles is ignoring her and why he's with someone else, so she confronts him. He tells her he's disgusted by her for letting an accomplice in Erica and Boyd's deaths touch her, and that he realized his love for her was unrequited. He says he's moved on with Malia and that he's in love with her. Lydia eventually regrets her actions, but it's far too late.
