“I just don't understand it, Hyung!” The frustration that had been building up inside of him for the past weeks finally snapped, forcing his body to raise his voice.
The anger in him was evident. You could see it with every move. The way his hands were shaking, his walk, or his emotions that he couldn't keep in check—everything confirmed the rage he hid inside.
The past weeks were hell for him.
Every time he posted a new song, a little sample, or even the smallest spoiler in the world on his account, his personal hater was there, waiting like a predator for his prey, always ready to bring him down.
No matter what he did, what song he sang, or what performance was promoted, he was prepared to criticize and point out every smallest mistake he made.
Jisung knew he was no perfectionist. Messing up the rap lyrics or even the choreography they planned before was a daily occurrence for him. It was part of his stage persona.
He was always too much, too happy, and too there to focus on these small details. His fans loved him for it.
But this one hater being there destroyed everything for him.
Instead of the silly post his fans made about his mistakes, his lyrics, or the rap he evidently didn't do right, he received a daily dosage of unpleasant comments and harsh criticism.
He could not be himself ever again, not with the way this person was always there.
And Jisung couldn't take it anymore.
It's not like it was the first hate he had ever experienced. Being a musician came with plenty of comments: good and bad ones. But this time, it seemed to be different.
The pain felt bigger than before.
Every time he was scrolling through social media, he saw the account there, hating on him like it was his passion.
The bigger the mistake was, the harder the criticism became. He knew how to use his words. He knew how to hurt him the most.
The worst? This man was also able to change the perspective of his videos, no matter how innocent they were.
A silly video between Changbin and him? Han was far too much of a diva to listen to his friend, always forcing him to follow his lead and never giving him a chance to talk or choose.
A cute video with his Chan? He fucked through the group and the industry to be there, never doing anything, only sucking dick to get his numbers and awards.
A video of him talking to his fans? He always manipulates and tries to make himself seem like a victim to gain sympathy from everyone, so his fan base will follow him forever.
It was almost like this unknown user studied him just to create a place to bully him in the right way.
Everything around this situation felt insane, Jisung himself included.
Having a personal hater, especially someone as nasty as this person was, made him go crazy. Seeing his comments, his posts, or even knowing that he was there—he could scream for hours, hoping for something to change.
“Hey, I get it, but…” Chan tried his best to comfort him, but Jisung cut him off instantly, not letting him finish his sentence. He knew what his friend was about to say and couldn't bear to hear it.
These reassuring words he always opted for in such moments, the ones that had a way to give comfort to others, felt wrong right now. He was struggling, but he refused to receive this comfort.
He knew that Chan only wanted to help, but still, he didn't listen.
“No, you don't get it, Hyung!” he screamed instead, his body trembling with the anger accumulated inside it.
“I can't post without him being in my comments!” he continued, his voice still loud and his feelings with no way to go. “He always has something to say about me! My voice is pathetic, my works are shit, and my looks are making him puke. He hates on everything as long as I'm in the picture!”
The fire that he was holding down started to rage, his mind remembering every little remark of the men.
There was so much to it. So much hate, so much criticism, and so many people he changed the minds of. He created more hate and even more haters with his behavior, and Jisung could not stop it.
He was stuck here with no way to go, and he was hurt, deeply.
It pained him to read everything, to see how someone was able to take away the people who swore to love him forever.
But also it hurt to see someone who he doesn't know personally spend his day hating on his work, the thing he worked the hardest on in his life. Jisung just couldn't deal with it anymore.
He just wanted it to stop.
“Hyung, please tell me what I have done to deserve this.” He begged his friend for an answer, for a reason why he was here, stuck with all the events he couldn't change.
The anger was still there, lingering in his body, but he was exhausted. He let himself fall down on the couch, the little one in their studio he always slept on when his bandmate worked on the music.
“I can't tell you why he is so dead set on it, Sung. But believe me, your music is better than everyone else's.” Chan's eyes were full of empathy, looking at his pathetic state on the couch. “Don't listen to him and just ignore it like we do.”
Jisung could tell that he was worrying about him. His brows were almost touching from the frown he had on his forehead, but this wasn't enough for him.
He knew that his friends, his bandmates, and even his family loved his music. They made him known every day of his life. This was different, though. This one dude didn't know him and still created a plan to hurt him.
It was someone unknown to him that tried to destroy the life he worked hard for.
And now he had to find a way to stop it from happening.
“I get it, you guys love my tracks, but this… I just…” Jisung couldn't find the right words to explain his feelings, the emotions that were stuck in his mind and soul.
Everything about this situation just frustrated him and made him feel powerless and stupid.
Jisung was aware he gave this random person far too much attention, but he didn't know how to stop the same way he didn't know how to stop him. He was stuck in a limbo.
And it was endless, always going around with no end and leaving him uncertain in his position. It made him want to give up.
“So what do you plan to do?” Chan asked him, looking full of worry at his defeated body.
His eyes resembled a small, sad wolf pup, giving him the sweetest look for the concern he showed Jisung. It really affected him seeing his friend so resigned.
But Jisung, currently, had no answer for him, shrugging his shoulders and looking away from the expression his leader gave him. He couldn't look in his eyes.
“A small break, perhaps?” Chan tried to offer, but Jisung shook his head, not ready to give up completely no matter how much anger and pain was inside of him.
Taking this break would mean admitting that his hater was right, that he needed time to get better, and Jisung didn't want that.
He wanted to prove that he was good, that his music was worth listening to, and that he deserved every fan who still supported him.
Jisung wanted to fight to prove that he had a place in the music industry.
“I want to…” he began to say, heaving his exhausted body from the couch while still looking away. His eyes were focused on the wall, decorated full of their photos and even some small awards they won. “…fight.”
And so he did.
Challenge accepted, my boy!
