"Hey, Dad. We're getting kidnapped by the Avengers." "Have fun!"

Summary:

The loft is broken into as Derek and Stiles are sleeping, and they are taken (willingly) to New York by none other than the Avengers! Hopefully, the Avengers survive the chaos that a wolf and a spark bring.

Chapter 1: Chapter One

Chapter Text

“Derek! Down!” Stiles shouts from behind him. The wolf does as asked and flattens himself to the ground, watching as the feral omega flies over his head. He jumps up and slashes his claws through its throat, finally killing it. Derek stands up, breathing heavily, and looks over at his mate. The boy is bloody from various cuts, and his eyes are glowing a dark purple. He walks up to the wolf and cups his face.

“You good? I was worried for a minute there.” He smiles and kisses the boy. “I’m okay? Are you?” Stiles grins. “Yup! Fingers crossed I don’t fall asleep in class, though.” He accentuates this with a jaw-cracking yawn. Derek raises an eyebrow. “Yeah, no. You are going to come home with me, take a shower, eat food, and then go to sleep. In that order. I’ll deal with your dad.” Stiles gives him a grateful smile and a kiss before turning and walking back towards his Jeep. Derek digs his phone out of his pocket, surprised it isn’t shattered, and calls the sheriff.

When the man picks up, it’s obvious that he was asleep. “Derek? Everything okay? Is Stiles okay?” He winces. “Yes, sir. Everything is fine, and Stiles is okay. He’s a little cut up, but nothing major. I was calling to ask if you would call the school and let them know he’s not coming in today. He’s pretty much dead on his feet.” “Of course. Tell him to call me when he’s a little more coherent, and that I love him.” Derek nods, even though the man can’t see him. “I will. I’m sorry I woke you up.” The man yawns. “It’s fine, son. Thank you for letting me know. Get some rest, both of you.” Derek can hear the fond smile as he hangs up, and he grins to himself.

He runs to the Jeep, having run here and not trusting Stiles to drive in his exhausted state. Sure enough, as soon as the engine starts up, he’s asleep against the window. Ten minutes later, he’s parking in front of his loft and shaking him awake. “Come on, Sti. Let’s get you clean and fed so you can go to sleep.” The boy stumbles into the building and leans against Derek as the elevator goes up. The man quickly unlocks the door and leads Stiles into the bathroom, getting him undressed and into the shower. “I’m going to go heat up some food, okay? When you’re done, grab some of my clothes and come eat.” He receives a nod and goes to heat up leftover pizza. Stiles walks into the kitchen as he’s finishing, wearing a pair of boxers and an oversized long-sleeved shirt, rubbing his eyes.

“Go ahead and eat while I take a shower, and then we can go to sleep, okay?” Stiles nods and leans against the counter, biting into the pizza with his eyes closed. Derek smiles at the sight and takes a quick shower, coming out just as Stiles is climbing into bed. He pulls on a pair of boxers and climbs in behind the teen, wrapping his arms around his waist and shoving his face into his neck. “Goodnight, Sti. Love you.” Stiles burrows into his arms and mumbles out, “Love you too, Sourwolf.” He falls asleep quickly, and Derek breathes in his scent before doing the same.

The first thing Stiles notices when he wakes up is that something is crossing his wards. He shakes Derek awake, watching his eyes flash red as he tells him what’s going on. Stiles hides them with his magic, waiting for whatever is coming for them. When two people enter, a man and a woman, he wraps his magic around them and pins them to the wall. He silences them so they can’t call out and does the same for each person that enters. Once everyone is pinned, he lets them speak; information is the greatest weapon, after all.

The first woman that entered speaks first. “Whoever you are, unpin us! We just want to talk.” Derek grabs his wrist, stopping him. “We have a proposition for you; it is the reason we came here.” Stiles rolls his eyes. One of the men sighs, irritated. “Look, whoever you are. We came here to talk, so can we get on that? I don’t want to be here anymore than you want us here.” Stiles hesitates. “Oh, come on! I told you this was a bad idea, Steve, but nooo, Captain America is always right. Let’s go to their home, he says. It will be easier to talk to them there, he says. Does this look easy, Steve?” When Derek lets go of his wrist, he lets the magic over them go, leaving the intruders pinned.

“Holy shit! Where did you come from?” The man gasps out, startled. Stiles raises his eyebrow. “You’re in our home, why don’t you take a guess?” The man who originally entered snorts. “He’s got a point, Tony.” The original woman stares at them. “Would you mind releasing us? It’s much easier to talk when one is not pinned to the wall.” Stiles rolls his eyes. “Yeah, no. I’m not an idiot. You broke into our home, so you can stay pinned for as long as I feel like.”

Derek puts his hand on Stiles’ back. “You said you wanted to talk.” The wolf says and raises his eyebrows. The final man sighs and nods. “If you haven’t already guessed, we are the Avengers. I am–” Stiles cuts him off. “I know who you are, and I couldn't care less. What do you fuckers want, because I would like to go back to bed.” Steve frowns. “Isn’t it a little late to be sleeping?” Derek growls. “We could sleep for a straight 72 hours if we want; it’s none of your goddamned business. Answer the question, or you will be removed.”

Tony clears his throat. “We actually don’t want to talk, and we were ordered here. There have been significant magical occurrences here, and we have been tasked to bring the lovely person or people to New York for safety reasons.” He says this with an eye roll and obvious quotation marks for “safety reasons”. Stiles groans loudly. “Aw, come on! I have like 7 tests tomorrow, I can’t afford to be abducted.” He turns to Derek. “This is because of last week, isn’t it? She said she was going to curse us, but I didn’t think it was going to be this way.” Derek snorts. “No, this is just because we live in a shitty town with a demon tree.”

“So, now that we have done as ordered, can we be put down? This is a very uncomfortable position to be put in.” Stiles rolls his eyes and releases them. “What happens if I don’t go with you? I’ve already shown that I can stop you guys without lifting a finger; how are you going to make me come with you?” Tony sighs. “Look. Come, don’t come, I don’t care. I’ve done as ordered, so I’m going home. It was…interesting to meet you.” Derek glances at Stiles, who shrugs. The man glares at the group as he digs out his phone. Deciding to be a dick, he puts it on speaker.

“Hey, Derek. I wasn’t expecting you to be awake for several more hours.” Derek smirks and hands the phone to Stiles, who punches his arm. “Hey, Dad. I would love to not be awake right now, but Derek and I are in the process of being kidnapped, so it is what it is.” “What? Stiles, what is going on? Do I need to come over there?” “Nah, we’re good. It’s actually the Avengers who are relocating our persons, so I don’t think we’re in any immediate danger. Can you call the school and let them know?” “What am I supposed to say? Hi, my teenage son was just kidnapped by the Avengers, so he won’t be coming in today. Jesus Christ, kid. You couldn’t have waited until after graduation to be taken by the government?” Stiles winces. “Sorry, Dad, but I don’t think these very inconsiderate people would be willing to wait a year just for the sake of my education. Anyways, they’re starting to glare at me, so I’ll talk to you later. Love you!” There’s a tired groan from the man. “Yeah, I love you, too. You and Derek take care of each other, I mean it.”

When the man hangs up, Stiles grins at the annoyed superheroes. “So, do we have time to pack, or…” Steve frowns at him. “You shouldn’t have called anyone; that’s a security risk that we don’t have time for. And you are the one who’s coming with us, not your partner.” Stiles’ grin drops, and his expression makes them take a wary step back. “First of all, do not tell me what I can and can’t do. I am going with you because I am curious enough to do so, not because you are making me. Secondly, that is my father, who is the Sheriff, and I am in high school. And lastly, he is coming with me; it’s non-negotiable.” He takes a deep breath and smiles. “So, do we have time to pack?”

Natasha nods. “Just make it quick. We need to go.” Derek grabs Stiles’ hand and leads him upstairs, where they throw their things into a duffel and get dressed. “Do you have your meds here?” Stiles nods. “I’ve got enough for two weeks. If they’re planning on keeping us, they can deal with my doctor.” Derek snorts and gives him a quick kiss. They head downstairs, watching as they pretend they weren’t eavesdropping.

“So, how are we getting to New York, because us and flying don’t mix. I can get myself and Derek there no problem, but you guys are going to have to figure something out.” Steve frowns again. “I don’t think that’s a good idea. We have a private plane waiting, so you won’t have to be around other passengers. You need to stay with us; you’re a security risk.” Stiles scowls. “I mean, if you want the plane to be shot out of the sky, then let's go. Otherwise, we’ll meet you in New York.” Natasha smiles. “Would you mind if I went along with you? Or maybe you’d feel better with Clint? Just to diminish the security risk.” Derek looks at Stiles, then nods. “We’d prefer to go alone, but since that isn’t an option, Clint can come with us.”

Steve looks like he’s about to protest, frowning yet again, when Stiles groans in frustration. “I swear to god, dude, we’re doing what you asked, find another facial expression. And, while you’re at it, shut up.” He spins around and glares at Clint. “Are you coming or not?” The man gives a startled nod and walks up to them. As soon as he’s in reach, Derek wraps an arm around Stiles’ waist and grabs Clint’s wrist, and they are sucked into darkness.

They reappear in Central Park, hidden in the trees. Clint rips his wrist from Derek and bends over, throwing up. “Seriously, warn a guy!” he grumbles out as he stands up, still looking nauseous. Stiles ignores him and turns to Derek. “I can’t wait for you to show me around! I know this is about two years earlier than we planned, but it’ll be fun!” Derek gives him a soft smile. “I know. You’re going to love it.” He stiffens and turns to Clint. “Since we’re here several hours before you planned, can we walk around for a while? I-I need to go see something.” Stiles gasps softly. “Oh, Derek, are you sure? I mean, do you want to go alone? Because I’m perfectly okay with that.” Derek swallows and shakes his head. “I want you to see it, too.” Stiles smiles and kisses him softly. “Thank you, Derek.”

Clint stands there and watches the men hug before clearing his throat. “Umm, whatever it is you want to see, you can. Just meet me by the library at 2.” He scratches his neck awkwardly before turning around and whistling loudly and off-key. Stiles grins at Derek, and they run off, leaving the man behind.

Derek leads Stiles around the city, hands intertwined, and points out various things. He’s smiling and laughing, telling stories about him and Laura, and Stiles has never been more in love. They eventually stop in front of a building that looks like an apartment would cost more than his house each month. They walk into the lobby, and Stiles looks around as Derek speaks to an attendant. He follows the wolf to his apartment, which ends up being on the 25th floor. His hands are shaking, so Stiles takes the key from him and unlocks the door. The door opens into the living room, where Stiles can see blankets tossed across the couch and books piled on the table.

Derek’s eyes are filled with tears as he takes in his sister’s scent. He walks over and grabs a sweatshirt lying on a chair and brings it to his face, crying softly as he breathes in. Stiles sees a few photo frames on the wall and walks up to them, tears gathering at the sight of the two smiling in front of the Statue of Liberty, Laura laughing at Derek, who has several birds perched on him, Laura reading on the couch, Derek asleep on the counter, surrounded by books. Seeing a photo sticking out of a book, he grabs it, letting out a sob when he looks at it.

“What’s wrong?” Stiles wraps his arm around Derek’s shoulder and hands him the photo. With the words ‘World’s Best Uncle’ across the top is a sonogram. “She…was pregnant?” His legs give out, and Stiles brings them down to the floor as he sobs. They lay on the floor for almost an hour, sobs giving way to sniffles. He stands up and looks around, then back down to Stiles. “Can we leave? I can’t do this right now.” He nods and grabs Derek’s hand, leading him out and locking the door. They exit the building in silence, walking around as he processes. They end up near the library and see Clint waiting for them, sunglasses on and drinking coffee.

When they approach, he takes in their appearance and wisely doesn’t comment. “The others have finally landed and are thoroughly annoyed with each other. We’re meeting everyone at the Avengers Compound upstate so we can talk about what’s happening. I, for one, am very excited to get to know you guys. Not really sure about the others, specifically Steve, but they’ll get over it.” A car pulls up next to them, and he motions for them to get in.

Once they’re settled and moving, Clint turns to them curiously. “So, what’s the deal with you two? From what I’ve gathered, you, Stiles, are in high school and are a junior?” Stiles nods and gestures for him to continue. “And your father is the sheriff?” He nods again. “But Derek is several years older than you, correct?” Derek scowls. “Not several. Three years.” Clint grins. “My apologies. So, your sheriff father, a man of the law, is okay with his 16-year-old son living with a 20-year-old man?”

Stiles rolls his eyes. “We are not living together, I just sleep over sometimes. And I’m not 16, I’m 17. And, yes, I’m aware that doesn’t make it any better, but we’re engaged. You know, in case you missed the ring.” His eyes immediately drop to his hand. “I did, in fact, miss the ring. Yet, that just raises more questions. Your dad is okay with this?” Derek snorts, and Stiles smacks his arm. “Excuse you, mister, you have no room to talk. He’s okay with us now, but he wasn’t in the beginning.” Derek raises an eyebrow. “Could that be because of, oh, I don’t know, his son accusing me of murder? Twice?” Stiles pouts. “Among other things.” Derek laughs, surprising Clint with the bright sound. “Among other things, indeed. No, he wasn’t happy, but certain things came to light, and he had to accept us. It didn’t take too long for him to really be okay with it, though.”

Clint leans forward. “What things? Are you pregnant?” he asks with a grin. Stiles laughs. “No, not pregnant. And that is privileged information. You might learn about it one day, you might not. It depends on how much we like you guys. You, personally, though, I’m a big fan of.” Clint grins at him and winks. Derek goes to growl, but Clint turns and winks at him, too. He glances at Stiles, sharing a confused look.

The rest of the drive is spent in silence, which is strangely comfortable. Derek shuffles in his seat until his head is in Stiles’ lap and closes his eyes as his hair is played with. One of Stiles’ wrists is in his grasp, while the other hand alternates between carding through his hair and running over his neck. Stiles laughs softly as he scratches the man’s scalp, and he starts rumbling happily. The car eventually stops in an underground garage, and they climb out, stretching. “Ugh, I would kill for a nap right about now.” Derek smiles and wraps his arm around his mate, throwing their duffel over his shoulder. They walk over to an open elevator that’s waiting for them.

They shoot up at an alarming rate, finally stopping when a female Irish voice announces they’ve reached the lounge. The door’s open to an open-concept room, and there are people across every available surface. Derek steps out first, and Stiles follows, staying a step behind on his right. A man steps forward, and with the eyepatch, it’s obvious who he is. “My name is Director Fury, and you have been causing a lot of panic for the last year, which makes agencies like ours trigger-happy.”

Stiles nods at him. “‘Sup? I’m hoping you are going to explain what’s going on, because Mr. Frowny Face over there wasn’t very helpful.” There’s a snort from the corner of the room. “I like this kid. I didn’t get to introduce myself properly earlier, you know, with the breaking into your house and all; My name is Tony Stark, and it’s been a pleasure watching everyone running around like headless chickens because of you.” Stiles winks at the man. “Oh, the pleasure’s all mine. My life goal is to piss off as many people as possible, and I’m off to a great start, apparently.” Derek smacks the back of his head. “Okay, that’s my second life goal. The first is annoying this guy.”

Fury’s eye glances over at Derek. “And you are?” Derek gives a blank stare, unblinking. “This weirdo is my fiancé, Derek. I’m sure you’ve been told by now that if you want me here, he stays.” Stiles yawns widely. “So, can someone tell us why we’re here? I was rudely woken up, and I would like to go take a nap.” He yawns again. Steve steps forward. “Is this man forcing you to be with him? You’re still in high school, you can’t be engaged.” Stiles’ eyes blaze purple. “Do not ever say that again, do you understand? You and your judgmental ass can go jump off a roof. My life is none of your business. I can sleep whenever I want, I can sleep with whoever I want, and I can marry whoever I want, and it’s still none of your business. Now, shut your damn mouth before I shut it for you.”

Stiles hides a smile as he feels Derek’s heated gaze on him. His hand touches his back. “Your eyes, love.” Stiles blinks, startled, and kisses him in thanks. A deep voice in the back leans over to Natasha. “Они мило смотрятся вместе.” She smiles and nods. “Да, они.” Stiles and Derek blush. “Спасибо. Я рад, что вы так считаете.” The woman looks up, surprised. “Вы говорите по-русски?” Stiles nods. “Мы оба так считаем.” The man speaks up then. “How many languages do you speak?” Derek clears his throat. “Between the two of us, maybe 12. We’ve been teaching each other.” The man looks impressed. “My name is Bucky. It is nice to meet you.”

They smile and nod, letting out deep yawns afterward. Fury clears his throat. “I’ll let Tony show you to your room. I think it would be best if we talk later.” Tony waves a hand. “Your room is right down this hallway. It has its own bathroom, but this is the kitchen. All of our rooms are down here, so I would get used to having other people around you.” He stops in front of a door. “This is you. F.R.I.D.A.Y. is hooked up in here, so if you need anything, just let her know. She’ll let you know when dinner is ready. Any food allergies?” Derek nods. “I’m allergic to mistletoe, and Stiles can’t have shrimp. Any other fish is fine, just not shrimp.” Tony nods and walks away, leaving them alone.

They enter the room and groan at the sight of the bed. It’s huge and has piles of blankets and pillows on it. They get undressed and climb into bed naked, Derek curling behind Stiles and shoving his face into the boy’s neck like normal. He rubs his nose behind Stiles’ ear, scenting him, while his arms wrap around the teen. “Sleep well, Sti. I love you.” Stiles smiles, already half asleep. “You too, Der. I love you.” With the sun still high in the sky and shining on them, they fall asleep with smiles on their faces.
