Something Only for Us

Summary:

He's had enough of others writing his own narrative for him, twisting facts and swapping words to make it flow better. Make him even more palatable than his smoothed out persona already is.

"Oh, for fuck's sake, you're wearing lingerie under your uniform for him. You are fucking insane, you know that?" Allison leans against the wall and points at Kevin.

Or, Kevin and Aaron aren't friends, but they aren't boyfriends either.

Work Text:

"Got this for your little boyfriend?"

Allison reaches under the collar of Kevin's jersey and lifts the hot pink strap. She lets it go in a way to ensure it's going to snap against Kevin's skin. He hisses and gives her the middle finger.

"First of all, fuck you. Second of all, I don't know how many times I have to say it, he's not my boyfriend."

"Suuure. You two just happen to live together, spend most of your time together, act like a couple. Totally not boyfriends."

"There are no romantic feelings involved. Never were, never will."

"No need to get defensive."

It's a conversation Kevin has with people at least once a week. Everyone insists they know his relationship with Aaron better than he and Aaron do. Kevin thinks they all should've become relationship consultants instead of athletes. And really, at this point he should just give up and let people call it what they want. It's not like they will ever fully understand, but Kevin just can't. It gets on his nerves like nothing has since his college days, probably.

"Many have told me." Kevin rolls his eyes. "I'm just tired, okay? I wish you actually believed what I say."

"To me it just comes across as living in denial when you don't have to."

"We're done with this conversation."

Kevin walks back to the mostly empty locker room to take his clothes back. The whole fantasy hinged on the fact that he was wearing his uniform over the lacy pink set, so he skips the shower and heads straight to the exit after he wipes himself with a towel. Allison lingers behind him, silently judging. They got unexpectedly close after signing for the same team. It almost feels like living a normal life.

"Tell Aaron hi from me," she says before she leaves to go in the other direction.

"I will."

Aaron was supposed to be home a bit earlier tonight. It's what got Kevin through the practice, knowing Aaron will be waiting by the time it ends. He wants to be good for him, always. That's why he agreed to the whole lingerie thing. It was Kevin's idea first, but it was Aaron who brought up wearing it while he plays. Something only the two of them would know, something for Aaron and Aaron only. And Allison, apparently, but that doesn't count.

What they have doesn't have a name. Only the outside world needs a label for it; Kevin and Aaron are simply happy to be together. After admitting that they don't really think it's romantic (and hours of ruminating what it even means), they decided to just do their thing and not worry about getting caught up in fitting into one of the few molds society provides. Definitely easier said than done, but it's been years since they first got together and it certainly doesn't bother them as much as it used to.

Despite being alive for a substantial amount of time, Kevin still gets surprised at how much people correlate sex with love. It's always just been something he simply does because it feels good. It's connecting with another person, sure, but it seems the connection is different to him than it is to other people. No, he doesn't feel like their souls are merging or any other bullshit like that he heard others say. In turn, people are surprised at him not being absolutely miserable about his previous hookups and the few friends with benefits situations he had in the past. He apparently didn't get the memo he was supposed to be doing it as some sort of punishment for… he still doesn't know exactly what.

Kevin still gets chastised with "as long as you're not leading him on", even though he and Aaron are very much aware where they stand after five years of living together. More than friends, but less than lovers, that's what he heard Aaron's colleagues refer to them. Kevin doesn't like being less than anything.

It seems like he will never be able to really clear up the misunderstanding, given how happy his friends are to come up with twisted interpretation after twisted interpretation on his relationships. All that matters is that he has Aaron, that Aaron has Kevin, and that there are none of the usual expectations between them.

Aaron doesn't say welcome home when Kevin steps into their apartment, instead pressing it into Kevin's skin in scorching hot kisses. He takes his time, knowing tomorrow is finally his day off and that they can stay up all night. Kevin doesn't think he can last too long, though. Just the thought of Aaron seeing him like this, sprawled on the bed in lace, only for him, makes him teeter on edge.

"Did you do well today? Wasn't too distracted?" Aaron gently bites Kevin's earlobe as he leads them to the bed.

"Was distracted," Kevin whines. His back hits the pillows. He feels like a different person. "So fucking distracted."

"But you always do well, don't you? Even when your mind is somewhere else."

"Aaron."

"Shh, I've got you. Let's see it, hm?"

Aaron looks very pleased with himself as he removes Kevin's clothes, going painfully slowly. Kevin doesn't miss the way Aaron's expression shifts when the pink bralette comes into view. He had to buy the two pieces separately, worried neither will fit. Aaron traces the floral patterns, pinching Kevin's nipples through the lace.

"I can't believe you really fucking did it." He pulls the material to the side to suck on the nipple he previously pinched.

Kevin doesn't hold his noises back. "You shouldn't underestimate me."

"I never do." Aaron pulls down Kevin's shorts down with his free hand. Now, Kevin's not huge by any means, but he worried about fitting into the scraps of lace passed as underwear. He's leaking through the panties, worried he'll come before Aaron even touches his cock.

Kevin doesn't have to wait long for that. Aaron grips his cock through the panties, his mouth switching between his nipples. Kevin thrusts into his hand, moaning.

"Did it feel good, baby? Knowing you're wearing it for me?"

"So good," Kevin cries. He pulls Aaron away from his chest, hoping for a kiss. Aaron complies, as always.

"You look so fucking pretty." Aaron holds Kevin's waist possessively. Kevin loves that; knowing he is all Aaron's whenever they fuck, knowing he can make him feel good. He reaches and plays with Aaron's hair to ground himself as he feels his orgasm nearing.

"Aaron— I can't—"

"Don't hold back. We have time, yeah? I will make you come more than once, doll," Aaron whispers to Kevin. "Show me how much you like it."
