You Can Always Change Your Mind

Summary:

Beatrice and Hero take a moment to talk before Hero's second wedding.

Notes:

Written for the 2026 Three Sentence Ficathon for the prompt "any, any, sedoretu."

Work Text:

Before they go out to face the wedding march in their matching dresses and veils, Beatrice squeezes Hero’s hand and looks into her eyes for a long moment, saying, “You know you don’t have to take him back if you don’t want to.”

Hero is quiet for just a second too long before she says, "But what about our sedoretu?" and Beatrice's heart clenches.

"Well,” she says, the words coming out slowly because it's hard to admit to changing her mind about so many things, “what would you say to the prince instead?"
