Chapter I
A/N: And here's the unexpected sequel. I wasn't planning on one, but the idea wouldn't leave me alone. I intend this story to be fluffier than the original. Thanks go out to cowgirlbookworm for her help! SSD
Will had been smiling nonstop ever since Olivia took his hand and held it to her stomach as a way to tell him she was pregnant.
She had been a mite touchy with smells lately, was that a sign?
"You are grinning like an idiot," Olivia said when she walked into the room.
"I'm smiling at my glowing wife." Will's smile grew at the sight of her.
His lovely wife rolled her eyes, "Hush. I want to be able to tell everyone without you giving it away!"
"Does anyone else know," Will pulled her close.
"Esperanza guessed yesterday. Not too surprising given that she's an OBGYN. She dragged me to her office for bloodwork after I nearly passed out at lunch."
"You did that again? At least we know it isn't something bad," Will led her to the truck, putting Orion in the back.
They didn't speak as he carefully backed the truck out of the driveway and into the street.
"I could've driven you know," Olivia said as she reached back to pet Orion.
"Not in your condition," he replied.
"Are you going to be like this for the next 7 months," his wife groaned, "I am not made of glass!"
"Obviously." Will kept his eyes on the road.
"You and Esperanza's mom will be competing for mother hen when she hears!"
His wife knew something and wouldn't tell him. Nothing Octavian said or did would persuade Esperanza to share it.
Octavian wondered if she was pregnant again.
She smirked at Will, Olivia, and Orion's arrival. His sister and brother in law were being absolutely nauseating, touching slightly at all times and giving each other googoo eyes at each other. Orion was leaning on his sister's legs.
He didn't know that dogs could make eyes like that.
Will ushered Olivia into a chair, and went to get some food. Orion stayed by her side.
Octavian fully expected his sister to chow down on the red pork tamales, as per usual. She'd eat so many of them, extra were usually made.
Only Olivia this time took one bite, and had to run off. Will was after her immediately.
Octavian went over to pet Orion. After about ten minutes, they returned.
Upon seeing him, Olivia smiled at him asking, "Would you like the tamales? They aren't agreeing with me today."
He barely stopped himself from gaping. His sister never gave up her tamales without an argument.
Will came back with drinks. Both of them were Diet Doctor Pepper.
Not that either of them drank a ton, but a glass or two at parties was not unusual. Octavian kept his thoughts to himself and ate the tamales without further ado.
Whilst drinking the soda, his sister put it down, covering her mouth as she ran off yet again.
Motioning for Will to sit down he said, "Let me check on her. You go get some food."
Octavian moved past people until he found the bathroom. Upon opening the door, sure enough Olivia was worshipping the porcelain throne.
It clicked in his mind: the googly eyes, the constant touching, and the food sensitivity.
Once she leaned back, he grinned, "I'm going to be an uncle, aren't I?"
"Took you long enough to guess," Olivia groaned.
"Was just waiting to be sure. Does Will know?"
"Yes, I told him a couple of hours ago. Esperanza has known since yesterday," she answered.
"Well then, let's have you and Will tell everyone else the good news!" He led his sister out of the bathroom.
The party, which had already been a happy event now became uproarious.
His hoomans were having a puppy! He'd finally get a playmate!
Orion got his fair share of pets from the people coming to congratulate his hoomans, soon he wandered outside in the yard to sun himself. His fur cousin Hera was also sunning herself.
His nose twitched and he opened his eyes. There was a roadrunner in the yard.
He prepared to pounce by staying low to the ground, his tail straight out.
Orion lept, the bird began running around the yard. Hera just watched the chase.
He ran at the cactus and the bushes trying to catch the bird.
The bird lept, so did he. And he somehow wound up on the roof, bird gone.
Scared, he began barking as he couldn't get down. Orion began singing the song of his people.
This brought people outside, including his hoomans. After calling to him, something was brought and his secondary Holman climbed up, grabbed him , and slowly brought him down.
He got fussed over, and began booping his original hooman in the tummy, which earned him scratches behind his ears.
Olivia noticed that Will was one of only three partners/husbands there in the waiting room. The women who had no one with them gave her dirty looks over both Will's presence and cuddliness.
The nurse called, "Murdoch's, you're up!"
Will hurried to get the door for her, and led her inside.
The nurse was waiting by the scale. Olivia toed off her shoes and got on it.
Fiddling with the scale to get it to balance, the nurse said, "140 lbs and 65 inches in height."
"You need to put some meat on your bones. I don't want you to get ill," Will covered her hand with his, squeezing it.
"Bloodwork is needed to check your blood type, hemoglobin, immunity to certain infections, and your exposure to other infections," the nurse ordered.
Olivia held out her arm saying, "I'm A+."
"I'm O+," Will added.
The nurse finished up the blood draw then said, "Well, that's a problem averted. The doctor will be here shortly."
"It's been 80 years and only now you're giving me grandchildren!" A woman's voice in a Scottish accent rang out.
"Mum! What are you doing here," Will asked.
"Checking over my son and his new wife." Turning to Olivia she asked, "Is there anything you'd like to know?"
There were questions that Will couldn't answer that would be helpful in the upcoming appointment.
"How big a baby was Will when he was born?" This was only the first question she had.
"Oh he was the biggest of my babies..." Her spectral mother in law trailed off as she saw her paying face.
"Well all of your bloodwork looks good, lets do the sonogram," Doctor Pierce, A woman between hers and Will's ages said.
Olivia pulled up her shirt and yelped at the sensation of the cool gel.
"Is the gel too cold," Will asked.
"No, it just caught me off guard," she replied squeezing his hand.
Soon enough, they saw the little peanut shape that was their kid.
"Hello there little one. I'm your father," Will touched the screen whispering.
A/N 2: And here we are! Looking forward to seeing what you all think! SSD
