A week after the events of the first part, Asriel is finally coming home… at the worst time possible.

There are still so many questions unanswered…

Chapter 1: Welcome to Hometown

Chapter Text

“What are we going to do!”

Kris had been pacing in their room for the last hour or so. You were standing in the middle of the tornado.

“Calm down. We’ll figure it out! I can just… hide in the forest…” You said, trying to comfort them.

“Asriel is coming tomorrow!” They responded, stopping their pacing to face you.

It had been a week since… well everything happened… Everyone was still grieving the losses and trying to move forward, but things have been rough.

Susie and Noelle are closer than ever, but it seems that not all is well in paradise.

Their relationship is still very blurry, nobody, not even them, know what they are.

Berdly and Kris have been getting closer, much to everyone’s dismay.

And Toriel has been trying to be a better parent… while also letting her child go off and fight monsters…

But you… you still had so many questions.

The knight that you had heard so much about… who were they.

The creature that mimicked Kris and December, nobody was even sure what it was.

And… Ralsei.

“Asriel won’t know about anything!” You responded.

“And we will just nicely ask the knight to stop making fountains?!”

December holiday was still inside the bunker, her sister visited every day.

It was just a hill now, no red door to even bang on. But she knew something was still inside.

They never truly beat the angel. They had only gotten Kris out of its grasp.

It had been a day since the last fountain had opened, this time it was at the bottom of the lake.

Everyone really had to put their head together to figure that one out.

“Listen… if a fountain opens, we just sneak out and close it!”

“Ah yes, my brother who I haven’t seen in years won’t think it’s weird that I’m not spending time with him!”

Kris turned their head to a bucket that stood next to their bed, it was nearly full with black sludge.

“And we just won’t bring that up!”

When you jump started that black heart Kris had absorbed, you thought that was the end of it.

But ever since that day, their body has been rejecting the heart.

Every now and then, they would vomit a strange black sludge. It was viscous and oily, it felt wrong just being near it.

“If you're that worried, we’ll just schedule another meeting with Catti!” You replied.

“Not possible, Catti is too busy with Noelle trying to find a way to get December back.”

“When me and Ralsei were inside of your room’s dark fountain, we had a weird… co-possession… I think if I-“

“No! You're not possessing me again!”

“Just for a week!”

“We already talked about this! You have no idea how the black soul will react to it!”

“The last time it came in contact with determination, it only stabilized. Who’s to say that won’t happen again!” You observed.

“That was during a ritual! The circumstances are completely different!”

“You sound like a nerd. you’ve been hanging out with Berdly too much.”

Kris grabbed the bucket of sludge, getting ready to bring it down the stairs.

“Here, let me.”

You grasped onto the bucket's handles, a familiar red energy coursed.

You had been practicing that ever since you found out you could.

The day you picked up the headband.

You grabbed the bucket out of Kris’s hands, and began to float downstairs.

“Morning!” You shouted, floating down into the kitchen.

“Morning, Soul.”

Toriel had been tired since that day, it’s like she hadn’t slept at all.

The day after everything went down, you sat Toriel down to explain everything.

She cried about how much of a bad mother she was, and how Kris could never forgive her.

You passed by her, grasping onto the door handle and pushing it open.

You floated around the house, dumping the black goo in a hole Kris had made in the nearby forest.

You floated through the wall to get back inside, before floating towards the door to close it.

Ralsei’s headband had vanished the day of his sacrifice. It was replaced by his hat, a constant reminder of what you could have done.

The hat laid above Kris’s bed, the only thing considerable to a trophy.

But it wasn’t a trophy at all.

You floated back to Kris’s room, closing the door behind you.

“Where's the bucket?” Kris asked.

“You really want Asriel to see your goo bucket?”

“Don’t say it like that!”

You simply shrugged, floating up and laying in the air.

“And you're definitely not just gonna stay in the forest! You're gonna get bored and try to fly in the house. I know you.”

“Ouch!”

You pressed your hand to the soul that floated in the middle of your translucent body.

“What if we just tell Asriel that I’m a species of monster?”

“He’s not an idiot. He knows what a human soul looks like, and he can see the human soul that’s floating in the middle of your chest.”

“Hmm… what if we cut a hole inside one of those tiny toy trucks, and then I get inside and we pretend it’s remote controlled!”

“Can you take this seriously!”

You rolled your eyes, floating over to your side.

“Just because someone you cared about died, doesn’t mean you get to act like a jerk! We all cared about Ralsei!” They yelled.

“Me! I’m acting like a jerk!? You’ve been shoving everyone off to go hangout with some weirdo in a man cave!”

“Berdly and I are friends! A concept you seem to not be able to grasp!”

“Friends?! Everyone sees the way you look at him!”

“I wish I could hit you right now!”

You and Kris stared at each other from opposite sides of the room, the air seemed to catch fire.

————

“Hey, Frisk? Did you get my toothbrush from the apartment?” Asriel asked.

Frisk turned their head to the backseat, examining the bags from a distance.

“I… Think…?”

Frisk and Chara were the two friends that Asriel had made during his first year of college. And he couldn’t wait for his family to meet them.

Chara was driving the car, they were definitely the most responsible.

Frisk stared out of the passenger window, examining the foliage and wildlife.

“You told Kris about us, right?” Chara asked.

“…No…” he responded.

“This is their first time seeing other humans! I think a warning would be nice!”

-In two miles turn left- Chara’s phone buzzed.

“Kris is…”

“Kris is weird, we get it.”

“I didn’t say that! I said they were different!”

“Guys, please stop fighting.” Frisk said.

Chara refocused their eyes back onto the road, while Asriel leaned back into his seat.

“Just be nice!” Asriel begged.

“That should be easy… right Chara?”

Frisk turned to face Chara, pointing at a green pin on their jacket.

“Oh I don’t know. You canceled the kindness club’s last meeting.” They replied.

“I told you I had ballet!”

Frisk had started seven different clubs, Frisk and Chara were usually the only members.

“Whatever, not like I care. I have my own club to worry about!”

“Aren’t you the only member of the self-defense club, Chara?” Asriel said.

“For now! Just wait and see.”

Chara flaunted their jacket, showing off a red pin with a knife symbol on it.

“Oh! Guys!” Frisk shouted while frantically pointing out the window.

“Finnaly, I’ve been driving for hours.” Chara responded while leaning back into their seat.

-Welcome to Hometown-

-Five hours-

————

“Kris! Where are the cookie cutters!” Noelle shouted, still trying to prepare the welcome party.

Asriel had only called a few hours ago, and said he would be earlier than expected. Ever since that, everyone has been rushing to prepare the welcome party.

Kris simply pointed to one of the drawers, before running up the stairs.

You floated up to follow them, and also to get away from the noise.

Even Rudy left his hospital bed, much to the dismay of Carol.

“Kris! Cmon! He’s gonna be here in a few hours, and a co-possession is the best bet!”

“Yeah, except for the possession part!”

“The possession might stop your goo vomit!”

“Or make it worse! We know nothing.”

You floated away from Kris, taking a few deep breaths.

Kris walked backwards towards their bed, sitting down and taking a few deep breaths.

“Me and Berdly aren’t dating.” They stated calmly.

“I know, sorry for… yelling at you.”

Asriel could get here at any time, and if anything was out of place…

“I’m sorry, but it will just be a week!”

You dashed towards Kris, grasping onto their chest.

One of their eyes began to glow a bright red, while the other became darker than anything you had ever seen before.

You began seeing out of one of Kris’s eyes, and you tried to ignore the sounds of bones snapping in and out of place.

“AGH-“
